Catalina is an amazing school! By far one of the best schools in the district. The principal of the school is very positive. He can be seen throughout the campus interacting with the students and staff. He is very approachable and always is willing to listen and is very supportive of the parents, staff, and most of all students. The teachers are exceptional educators and people. Catalina teachers teach from the heart and always put the students first.
Catalina Ventura is a Character Counts school. It certainly shows. The students go out of their way to make their character count. The campus is spotless. The parking lot is immaculate. The way the students carry themselves is so impressive. They look out for each other, on their way to school, during school, and after school they are looking out for each other. They truly are family there.
Homework is important to our family. It allows students to practice and review the skills they have learned. I want our students to be career and college ready. The homework is appropriate. But the best thing, they have a homework hotline. You can call and speak to a real live teacher from the school. Where else can you get that kind of service to your child? Nowhere but Catalina.
I have volunteered several times at Catalina Ventura. A finer school I have never been to. Upon your arrival, you as a parent or guest are greeted by the warm, thoughtful front office. They know every student and parent by their first name. The principal and Outreach Coordinator are the most dynamic duo I have ever met. The students are kind, thoughtful, and caring. This is the kind of family feeling the principal has established. Everyone is accepted, everyone is welcome. There is room at the table for your student. These teachers give all they have to students, it shows with their postitve connections they make with students and families. Catalina Ventura is the happiest, sunniest, most caring school in the valley.
The climate of the campus just doesn't allow for bullying to take place. It is a school of caring, and character. The students lookout for each other before school, at school, and on their way home from school. Everyone looks out for everyone else. The students and staff are one big family. It shows the minute you step foot on the campus.
The principal and outreach coordinator are always visible on campus. They are so friendly and warm. They know me by name, they make me feel important, like I matter, like my kid matters. Catalina is my child's home away from home.
