Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I enrolled my son in Madison Heights after we moved from the East coast and this school has been great. The teachers and principal really care about the students, the parents get involved and they really made my son feel welcome.

As a former teacher and now a parent, I am fairly critical of educational environments. Our top priorities were to find a socioeconomically & racially diverse, child-centered environment with a strong sense of community, happy teachers, & opportunities for academic challenge. We could not be more pleased with Madison Heights. In addition to everything we wanted, we got a dual language program (new this year in 1st grade). Madison Heights is specializing in foreign languages and is a magnet for the highly gifted program for the district. Our son is happy to go to school, engaged in his learning, adores his teachers, and has made lots of friends. He spends half of his instructional day in English and half in Spanish. He enjoys the after school program, which provides a nice variety of academic and recreational activities (and is affordable). The community is small - less than 500 students - so the administrators know all of the kids and families. Teacher turnover is minimal, & the teachers we have met seem to genuinely enjoy children. Staff are responsive and pleasant. Expectations are clear, communication is good, and we are very happy.

I honestly can't say anything negative about my daughter's experience at Heights! She has been attending for the last 3 years and loves the Spanish Immersion program, extracurricular activities, teachers, etc. Her quality of education far surpasses that of my son who was not a student at Heights, parent involvement is amazing, and she has made amazing friends and memories.

Madison Heights for K-4 is excellent! The principal is outstanding and the teachers really care for the wellbeing of our child. The pre-school program is absolutely unacceptable. They cannot keep a teacher for more than a few months and the director of the program does not receive feedback well. We would definitely have not put our 3 year old in the program. However, our 7 year old is doing great in the K-4 side of the school. The pre-school and MAC programs need a complete overhaul...be wary.

My boys (Kinder and 2nd grade) love Heights. It is a beautiful school with a very caring principal and we have had nothing but high quality and committed teachers. There is no pressure to volunteer but it is most appreciated when you do. My experience has been that communication (I always email) with teachers has been great. While I recognize nothing is perfect, with realistic expectations there is not much more I could ask for in a public school.

Our kids attended Madison Heights for one year and we were very sad to move away. The school has a terrific community feel, wonderful teacher communication, and excellent parent involvement. The teachers are top-notch and the school is run very well. All of the special classes are well-designed and really encourage the kids to grow and explore. I hope that they will get a better gifted or advanced placement program to keep some of the families there who have children with those needs. Otherwise, this is a wonderful school to send your children to.

We have raised 5 children in various schools throughout AZ. We are now raising our grandchildren, our grand daughter is in K at Madison Heights. We have been so impressed with the support and encouragement from the office staff, principal, and our grand daughter's teacher. The recent Fall Festival was amazing! Wonderful support and involvement from parents, higher level students, and staff. Our grand children had a blast!

Love Heights!! This is our third year at the school and we have had a great experience. The teachers work very hard to provide the best education possible for each child. I love that parents are welcome to visit and volunteer. We have met so many nice families and staff. It feels like home!

Madison Heights has a great staff (front desk), but in my opinion the Principle need to rethink some of her strategy. My child was sent twice! to after school program instead on the bus home . The principle drop her off without any apology and explanation. The bus drivers don't count the kids in the bus. ! Mr Much 4th grade teacher is an excellent teacher and he will help your child grow and challenge him/her. Ver dedicated teacher and he loves teaching.

I went to Madison Heights a year back. I did like our new principal but I had a mean teacher who I'll keep anonomus. The kids who needed more help didn't want to ask the teachers for help. The days felt like years they felt really slow. But I did like my Music Teacher,The P.E Coach, The Libarian, And The Lunch Ladies.

We have been at Heights for a few years now and are very happy with the education our daughter is receiving. If you are looking for a small school with a warm, nurturing, community feel to it, this is the perfect school. Yes, the former principal left some big shoes to be filled, but we feel the current principal is doing a fine job and is under criticism for issues that are beyond her control (i.e. at the district level). We switched to Heights from a larger school in the district, and we have never regretted our decision.

I am so disappointed with our experience at heights. Apparently the school used to be a shining member of the district, but it is not what I thought it would be. The leadership is definitely lacking. I wish our family had experienced the previous principal. We will be changing schools in the fall.

This school is good academically, but they need to implement an anti-bullying program. There is no reason in this day and age that any child should be subjected to bullying or exclusion. It is completely unacceptable!

My daughter's been attending Heights since Kindergarten - now she is going into 4th grade, her final year at Heights! We will truly miss it when she's done. The teachers & staff seem to genuinely care about students. We receive excellent communications so we always know what's going on. They seem committed to stopping problems before they happen. My daughter is confident and happy and receives good marks. She's progressed SO much. Very grateful we chose Heights.

Truly Madison's best kept secret. Small student number, but large campus and outside area. Great family feel. Devoted principle. Quiet neighborhood with beautiful view of the mountain. My son is very happy.

Heights is Madison School District's best kept secret! It's a wonderful, small school. My child has had outstanding teachers who go above and beyond what is expected. I am very excited that Heights will offer Spanish next year. Love the uniforms!

Madison Heights has been a wonderful small school in a 'big school' district. The teachers and staff are exceptional and caring. I have loved every teacher that my daughter has had. The parents are very involved and welcoming to all new families. It is a terrific school and we will be so sad to graduate to the big school next year. Madison Heights is truly a gem located in the most beautiful setting and off the beaten path. My daughter's love of math and science was recognized by the teachers and encouraged each subsequent year resulting in her highest test scores yet, and straight A's all year. If you are looking for a Madison Elementary school. You will not be disappointed at Heights.

As far as public education in Arizona goes, I believe that Madison Heights teachers and curriculum are exceptional and surpass most others.

Madison Heights is a small charming school hidden away by Squaw Peak. The staff and principal are outstanding at meeting each child's specific needs. The Principal knows all of the children and the teachers take special interest in their students. My child loves the small size and is not looking forward to leaving after fourth grade. The parents at Heights really care about education volunteer at PTO and other functions to ensure quality programs for their children. We also love the uniforms that are worn by the students. It has solved many morning headaches at our house! Madison Heights is a wonderful school for all students!

Heights is a terrific school. My twins sons attended from Kindergarten through 4th grade. We love the teachers, staff and principal. All are very dedicated and work with every child to succeed. We are very sad to be 'graduating' from the school and will miss everyone!

We did lots of research before choosing a school for my daughter to attend. We decided to go out of our district and send her to Heights but regret not doing more research. The curriculum lacks creativity. It is very repetitive which can easily lead to a child losing interest in the subject. I have served as a volunteer in my child's classroom several times and have seen the children do the same center's activities each time. One positive aspect is that it is a small school with a low number of students (K-4) but on the downside the school does seem to have financial problems limiting PTA activities to revolve primarily around raising funds for the school.

Good school, strongly focused on the No Child Left Behind. The school has dedicated teachers along with a core group of active parents. Poor parent participation with fundraisers and events. The district is struggling with financial issues.

After 3 children, It was hard to leave this k-4 small school with mostly caring teachers. The principal seems to be too concerned with becoming a warden, but each actual classroom is as good as you allow it to be by working with the teacher. (PTO was not too cliquish)
