I like this school overall, and many of the teachers are the cream of the crop. I do know of some issues with administration, however. Though she is generally outstanding and making her best efforts to motivate her staff, I know that she is overburdening teachers with too many evals, extensive lesson plans and constant maintenance. My children love attending there and I Love the facilities, library, the PE program and that safety is first!
We just moved here from out of state. I like how well rounded the curriculum is. They have the basics math, english, science etc. They also have art, pe, & music classes. I like that the whole school is indoors.(no walking outside in the windy/cold weather.) The library media center is huge. They have 25 computers in the library for the students to use. I enrolled my children this past Tuesday. I let them know my yougest needed speech therapy. On Wednesday I recieved the paperwork. Very prompt!
Ruth Powell is a great school and is still in its beginning years. They have a great staff and wonderful caring principal.
RPS is in its first year and it is awesome. The students are in a safe environment with caring teachers and a great principal and staff. The principal recognizes strengths of all students and has taken an active role in ensuring that the individual needs of all students are addressed. He helped 3 sixth grade students get enrolled in 9th grade algebra and helped make arrangements for the scheduling of their other classes. The entire staff encourages students in academics as well as social activities. There is a great deal of partnering with other classes at the school as well as with the high school that is directly across the street.
