Teachers are the most influential of our youth today and some are not paid very much ! They teach because they love children and they want to make a difference and every day we should thank a teacher for reaching our kids with a new lesson a new idea a new inspiration to open minds to the possible and the impossible - innovation and creation
I think the teachers are smart and dedicated to the kids being successful. CHS is ranked 22nd in the country academically which is excellent considering AZ is not very highly ranked in the country so they take it very seriously! Many educators are CHS alumni and have determination to help the youth succeed and many of these kids go on to getting great scholarships !
Respect is something kids learn at home first and foremost it is not the responsibility of the school! However a school should enforce respecting authority teachers students and each other ! I feel the code of conduct does this and kids do a good job demonstrating this amongst each other because they know the golden rule is to treat others the way they would like to be treated!
Through programs like Best Buddies students show compassion empathy and caring toward others ! I listened to so many of these kids share the evolution of their development and what it meant to them to be a part of volunteer programs that gave back . These kids really felt great by giving back !
It is important to instill these core values in students early so that as they get older they experience and demonstrate these skills and reciprocate ! If the school shoes these values in their students what is demonstrated and learned will be shared with others and kids will know honesty is key your word is your bond and being fair is important !
My son is a freshman st CHS, and part of the largest freshman class. The staff and teachers appear to be dedicated to the kids learning and success. They are positive and provide an array of activities for kids to explore creativity, join clubs, expand their minds and develop ideas which some of which have landed these kids scholarships. I am impressed with the educational ratings nationwide and encourage my son to strive for success even at this early stage. Athletics are ranked with success and we hope to be involved in baseball and basketball! Thank you Principal Holland and all of the educators and staff for your continued support for all students and athletes in helping them achieve their goals! - Suzi
CHS is overrated. Middle of the road students are the least educated. The focus is at the extremes of the spectrum. Teachers at these ends can be talented but arrogant, while the majority of students are herded into large classes with mediocre teachers. Not the best place for students who need or want inspired examples, passion, attention and direction.
