Great school, really concerned about the ongoing increase in class size. Would love it they reverted back to smaller class sizes. Love the resources available to parents to track grades, attendance, lunch accounts, etc. Overall.... great school.
I have a 1st and now 3rd grader at Imagine Rosefield. I cannot say enough great things so far. Kids are not only taught academics but also how to relate to others, kindness, caring and RESPECT. Mrs Guthrie (1st Grade) is a great teacher. My child is high energy and lacks some focus but we are working together to help him improve in the areas of concentration and focus and allowing him to thrive where he excels. (He reads at a 4th-5th grade level.) My daughter started 2nd grade in Aug. but has been moved up to the 3rd grade accelerated program and is thriving. She is FINALLY being challenged for the first time in her school career and it is incredible to see her grow every day. The teachers and staff at IR truly care about their students. Whatever issues they had in the past reviews, I haven't encountered. My only complaint is the pick up lines, but it is what it is, and they do the best they can. Courteous parents go a long way in improving the overall speed of the lines. I'm not one to just go by numbers and letter grades, but would prefer to have a great school that fits my kids exceedingly well. I definitely recommend Imagine Rosefield! Both principals get an A also
My child's experience in K-2 at RF was wonderful. Now we're getting ready for another school year at RF and I'm cautiously optimistic. There will be a new principal and I've heard some fairly negative comments about her. Also, all kids were tested at the end of last year for placement in accelerated classrooms, but not all kids who scored well will be placed because of space issues. Makes me wonder if the tests truly measure what they are supposed to. Was very disappointed my child is missing out on this opportunity because the classrooms are full. I certainly hope kids in the non-accelerated classes are still challenged.
My 5th grade son came to RF in the middle of this year. He was in a previous school since Kindergarten, but after an incident at that school, I had no choice but to find another school for my son to attend. After researching, and hearing such great things about RF we decided that RF would be the best new school for him to attend. Although my son has only attended half the year, we have seen such a great improvement in his grades and over all happiness. My son actually looks forward to go to school each day, and really enjoys his teacher and other staff at RF. I am defiantly at ease knowing my child is getting nothing but the best at RF. I highly recommend this school to any parent!
I absolutely will NOT recommend this school to a parent concerned with their child s education! Starting off with the administration, I never met the principal, given that I would go to all the school functions and volunteer at least once a month and the VP is not very friendly either. In the classroom, everything seemed so wonderful on paper, but when you went in there things were a whole different story. The teachers seemed to be more concerned of the social events than the curriculum. On the other hand, I was thrilled with the idea of grouping students according to their performance level in math and reading and the small classroom numbers however, when I had the opportunity to actually go observe; I was totally disappointed! There were about 35 kids in one math class and since there wasn t enough space some were practically facing the wall while others were never paying attention to the teacher. Also, many of the students at RF are not very friendly. My children s overall experience at RF was pathetic; I can t believe I subjected them to stay there for that long!
Rosefeild is a wonderfulllllll school!!! This is our first year going and we absolutely looovvveee it!!! Mrs Lakey is my sons teacher and she is great and he really likes her! Before we came to this school my youngest son really disliked going to school it was a challenge and a kicking and screaming match every morning....now they cant wait to go to school...it is wonderful. My daughter and my youngest son needed help in reading and also speech and they were right on it the first few weeks into school. I highly reccomend this school. The atmosphere and the teachers make it a comfortable and fun place to be. Also if you need afterschool care it is very reasonable and Miss Amy and Mrs Kim are awesome!!!!!
Rosefield is a great school. My daughter attended the school from the time she was in second grade until she moved on the Imagine Prep. We've been with Rosefied since they opened their doors. I want to praise Mrs. Hall, Mr. Hall, Mrs. Heimann, Mrs. Hui, Mrs. Coates, and especially Ms. Fosgreen. Ms. Fosgreen was my daughter's 6th grade teacher. Her skills and understanding of each child being an individual makes her a wonderful teacher. She is the accellerated teacher for 5-6 grade. She had most of her 6th graders learning and understanding 9th grade work. Once her students moved on to Imagine Prep, her dedication to those students didn't stop there. She is in constant contact with Imagine Prep to help those children, so they are still challenged. That is a real teacher! A teacher who really cares. Thank you Rosefield for making my daughter feel at home at your school, thank you to the teachers that my daughter has had throughout her primary school years, as a big thank you to Ms. Fosgreen (whom my daughter calls "the best teacher ever!").
Principal & Vice Principal are a joke and need to be replaced if this school is going to succeed! Decided this year to dream-up a split 1st & 2nd grade combo class which is a complete nightmare!! There was no planning, just the overflow of 1st graders put in a 2nd grade class, so you have kids that can't even read with kids spelling "communication" for spelling words! Had 29 kids in the class picture, & 1 month later 9 were gone! Met with the principal to move my daughter to a different class, to find out a week later they won't, because they have no other place, yet 4 students were moved next door. Sounds a little discrimatory! I think it's time the administration goes! We need people that are effective in their positions, not people that skate area.
Grandson has had outstanding experience at Rosefield. Ms. Guthrie who teaches kindergarten is a star.
Love the emphasis on parent involvement. Imagine Schools focus on character development as well as academic development makes all the difference. My daughter is not only learning the three R's (and doing very well) but she's learningt o be a caring, ethical, self sufficient person. I couldn't be happier with Rosefield.
