I have two children that have attended Thornydale. I was very pleased with the way this school worked as a community and valued parents input up until about a couple of years ago. The staff are very friendly and most of the teachers there go above and beyond but as far as the principal and vice principal go, they lack leadership skills and do not accept input from the parents.

I love Thornydale because that school fosters a feeling of family and community and that is an important characteristic to surround and teach childre of every and any age

Academic programs seem sound and somewhat challenging. The music program, as usual, is often slighted. Our issue is one of helping students individually, especially those with issue that thwart their educational progress. The school seems to make up its mind and then get angry at parents that question what's being decided for their children. In addition, they tend to 'write off' any students with developmental issues.
