I am a teacher with 20 years experience. I have taught at 7 schools, and of these 7 Van Buskirk is the school that I would rate the highest. Teachers collaborate, the principal is supportive, and the children are eager to learn. The Opening Minds through the Arts program allows every child to learn math, reading, science and other subjects through fun, stimulating lessons. The teachers are concerned with helping children learn to think creatively and critically, rather than just having them memorize facts.
I went to this school and sixteen years later my children go to that school (And even the same teachers as when I went to school are still there!) Great school.
This school is great for children...the principal is trying to increase academic achievement with technology and the OMA Arts integration program...this is a great school.
Vanbuskirk is very good school acedemically with very good programs for the children like the after school program that helps children excell. The staff really care about the children. Thx to the principle that makes the school run smooth.
