After attending Desert Christian High freshman year before transferring to Ironwood Ridge High School (which ranked in the top 5% of US public schools during my attendance), I must say Desert Christian High School's curriculum is disappointing. What they claim is a "rigorous" curriculum mostly consists of pointless "busy work" filler rather than constructive, analytical, skill building projects. I found myself spending ridiculous amounts of time on drawing biblical maps and sculpting foam science models. Though my time was filled, I learned little new, repeating most of my 8th and 7th grade years. Where were the lab based biology experiments and weighty theological discussions that a truly rigorous curriculum uses? My parents and others tried to make suggestions for improvement to the school s administration but were dismissed as encouraging laziness among students despite advocating assignment quality improvement rather than reduction. Ironwood Ridge improved in this area without the expensive tuition; however, the social environment was not as wholesome. Go to Desert Christian if you want to purchase a moral environment for your child. Expect little else.
