There are very few teachers that seem like they even enjoy teaching at this school. I've witnessed staff being very rude to very young children and it is just not acceptable. They have unrealistic expectations for kinder level kids, and reprimand constantly vice actually instructing. The gates are closed earlier than they are supposed to be in the morning forcing kids to be tardy prematurely. I am so disappointed with this school and the staff. The only positive thing I can say is that the grounds are maintained.

I have experienced nothing but good in the three years that my children have attended Twin Peaks Elementary. The teachers are fantastic. The administration is involved and ready to tackle anything that comes up. I couldn't be happier.

I regret moving my family to be in this school district. I am so disappointed in everything except their parent involvement. I have sat in on the classes (for each of my children's classes K-3rd grade) and was heart broken to see the type of interventions they have for children's behaviors. There is no room for a child to fidget, doodle, or move around in their chair what-so-ever. I can't sit through long meetings at work without doodling. How can they expect young children to just sit completely still? That is not a realistic expectation. There was very little actual instruction and many "group" activities. The classroom looks like assignments given out and children figuring things out for themselves or get a friends help. How embarrasing is it to have to ask your friends for help. I have no idea where the teaching comes in. The most disappointing factor is that both of my children struggle with reading because everything is timed. Instead of taking the time to sound a word out they start shouting out every word they can think of that starts with that letter. My children are as different as night and day. It says something when both do the same thing to read.

AMAZING school! My daughter is challanged, supported, cared for and encoraged daily. The pricipal is involved and connected and all the staff seem to be focussed on the childrens well-being, happiness, safety and education. I have no complaints! This is a 5 star school where your child will recieve an amazing, balanced education!

My child has been at Twin Peeks since kindergarten and now is in 6th grade. Every teacher, staff and volunteer have been great with the children. Parents are very involved. My child is above average intelligence and very well behaved so I can't be sure how much intervention is provided when needed. My observation of several children who seem to be very behind and would have been in special needs classes 20-30 years ago receive very few hours of extra help. They also pass to the next grade every year. I wonder if parents are aware that their child might qualify for an IEP or if teachers are informing parents of their rights to services available. A huge problem in AZ are politicians who don't place much importance on education and cut funding nearly a million dollars last year. A state full of wealthy retirees will not vote them out.

Twins Peaks is a Great school. I really like all the choices the kids have about what to get involoved in after school. I do wish school started earlier. Most parents have to be at work before 9am and the before school Leap program is very small and usually full. The only thing that does discourage me, not with Twin Peaks, but the education system in general, is how some teachers can not handle children with ADHD. They don't have the patience or time to deal with them. There are at least one or two teachers at every school. Having a child with ADHD is very difficult and most of my encounters with the class room teacher have been very stressful.

This school has very good academics. Most of the teachers really care about your children's needs on an individual basis. There are many activities offered. Parents are very involved in every aspect of the school from helping in their childs classroom to helping with school functions. The students and parents at Twin Peaks are one big family.

Twin Peaks is a fantastic school. The teachers really care about the students and put in the extra time and effort needed to make sure all students feel appreciated. The leadership is outstanding. The support given by the principal is impressive. The campus is clean and a safe place for my child. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences at Twin Peaks.

Great School. My six year old truly enjoys it. The teachers appear to truly care. There are many activities at the school through out the year. It is a fairly new school and seems to be doing well. They are always looking for parent involvement.

Overall, Twin Peaks is a good school. Twin Peaks is a little bit too disorganized for my taste. Example: School gates don't open until 20 minutes before class starts, and not all the teachers open their doors on time. Also, the parking lot is poorly designed and many fender benders happen. On the plus side, the teachers are very nice, and geniunely concerned with the education of the students, plus the school does try to interact with parents as much as possible.

I have only been in Arizona about 8 months and I really like the school, my daughter is really getting everything she needs there. I feel like they take the time to help when extra help is needed, and they keep the parents notified as to how the children are doing.

I am thoroughly disappointed in the FAME grading system. Because very few parents feel the same, I cannot believe the district has not abandoned it altogether.
