Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My children go to this school and I couldn't be more happier with the education, staff and atmosphere all around. Everyone treats each other as family and they are extremely welcoming. There are never any problems with kids having trouble getting along with each other. I am grateful for finding this school and couldn't imagine having to switch my kids out. The staff is always there to help with anything that I or my children may need.

I would like to take share with everyone here in Tucson about my wonderful experience I have had with Tucson International Academy Midvale. I took my grand children out of public schools because I noticed that they were just a number and not a student. Since I have moved them into TIA I have noticed a tremendous change in all of them. Their grades have improved so much that last school year they all received awards for showing improvement and also honor roll. My grand children show an interest in their studies at school and the homework they bring home. They are so proud of what they have accomplished in their lives. But I do have to say that if it wasn't for the staff at TIA my grand children would not have been able to do this. They are treated as students, as individuals, as children that they really care about. The teachers really care about the students futures and want them to succeed in whatever they choose to do. They push them to go far in life and really care about their educations. The staff is always communicating with the parents on how their children are doing every week. This school has been and is the best school in Tucson. I highly recommend TIA.

This school is a great! My daughter has been here the first two years of her school life and she has flourished. My son will go here next year. It is true that there is not a playground,, however the children are not running out in the alley either. There is an enclosed area in the back, that is covered where on nice days the children can eat lunch, I have stopped in unannounced several times and never have found things amiss. Chaotic sometimes, but what school isn't? If you are hands on with your child, then like anywhere else will know what is happening at school. I think parents are blaming the school for their own negligence in their child's schooling. As long as you work with your child, are active in your relationship with the school, and take an active role in helping your child learn basics like reading, spelling and math, there will be no issue. A school is only as good as the parents who support it and their child!

I pulled my children from this school. My daughter was intimidated not only by her teacher but the principal as well. None of my eight phone calls to the superintendent were returned. The classrooms were overcrowded and there is no place for the children to play. I would not recommend this school to anyone, ever.

Many things about midvale, depending on what teacher,or should I say sub your child gets is how they learn,I have met so many teachers/subs over the years. If there is an issue & try to address it well the "principle" has no idea what to do as she is on her phone/fb most of the day & then she spends the rest of the day in gossip at"front desk"while twirling her hair!seems as this job was given to her as no 1"qualified"wanted it! As for the superintendent, she rarely goes to midvale and when she does its to talk at the events that are held but has NEVER returned no 1s phone calls! Another thing, the food is awful & a shame as there is a lot that is wasted but not even the fruit is given to kids for snacks, they rather throw it all away & that the weird lunch lady that thinks she is the owner & ruler of the food/fridge which she then throws it all out, maybe she picks it up after and takes it home.Plus food is cold when served.kids have nowhere to play and if the older ones go out the have to be by the stinky dumpsters and always have to be dodging the semi trucks that pass back where they "play".There is more but I will stop now.1 good thing is that there is some get togethers.

If you are sending your child here you really need to research the qualifications of staff and the safety of the campus. I spent one day subbing here and was scared of what I saw.

This school is horrible. I was a former student... I would know. Now since im in a REAL school, i am learning the correct things, socializing with real beings, and doing better in my life. T.I.A will make your child the total opposite of successfull.

Tucson Internmational Academy is a really great school the teachers are great but the only thing that is wrong is that the computers that this school has are very old therefore the internet is down all the time and there is not much technology but the high school students have build rockets and they are currently working on creating some engines so the real world is applied at this school. The school itself has a really nice atmosphere that is hard to find at other schools!!! Everyone is a family there!!! And everyone works as a team

I really love the small school atmosphere of this charter school! It is right in my neighborhood, and the teachers are so caring! My 6th grader has learned a lot about China and really enjoyed learning about all of the different provinces there! I can't say enough good things about this school.

We love TIA Midvale! Our kids have attended this school for 3 years. It is a very small school with a unique school atmosphere. They get a full school curriculum in a small and safe environment. Lots of parents volunteer and have made this a very special place. The teachers are organized and the school is a performing Plus school and above average. We couldn't be happier here!
