I think Vernon is a great school and your child is missing alot by not attending . We have a great staff Strong leadership come check us out

Posted May 25, 2010

Unfortunately the school is going down hill. Eliminating school sports, school library and music programs just to make part-time employees full time is the wrong way to go. School board is just as much to blame. Some teachers and aides are great. Some teachers and aides are not. Some teachers and aides have to go. Including the principal who is making BAD decisions and hurting the students. How can parents get involved in the school board decisions when they have the school board meeting at 9:00 in the a.m. when parents are working and can not attend. Something is wrong with that. Parents need to let them know that isn't exceptable.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
