In the past 9 years that I have been going to Roosevelt first with my daughter and now with my grandchildren Miss. Barbara Hernandez has been by far the best teacher i have meet she is firm but at the same time loving she has shown are children the confidence they need and pushes them the positive way to be the best they can be. Miss. Hernandez has shown extrodinary passion for teaching. that everyone who has the pleasure of meeting her knows that she really cares about our chilldren and wants them to exceed in life she also goes over and beyond for our children with special needs going out of her way to make sure they are meeting there grade level. Thank you! Miss Hernandez. ps: I belive the District should have a better interview process for the teachers they hire in the well being of our children.

The culture is very rich at Roosevelt. It's fun to share cultures, languages and backgrounds. The academics are intense and the teachers work very hard to make sure the kids learn well. The teachers deeply desire for the parents to be involved in their kids schooling. The parental involvement is very low. The children must practice, at home, what they learn at school. The parents must get more involved with their children learning, either at home or at school. The staff is eager to answer questions and help however they can. There are limited 'arts' classes because of the amount of literacy classes that must be taught. There are 5 'specials' one taught each day of the week (music, art, library, P.E. counseling) The teachers are good at what they do, love doing it. The campus has a no bully policy. Volunteer as often as you can, its wonderful.
