My oldest son has attended this school since Pre-K until his current grade, 4th, and my youngest son just started Kindergarten there and I would recommend it for any parent looking for a quality education provided by very good staff for their children.

I used to be a student at Bayou Meto and my kids used to go there and and we are currently working on getting a house back in the area so my kids can go back to this school. This is an awesome school to attend. It's not very big like most schools and is a great place for children. The staff at BMES are awesome as well. I think BMES deserves 5 stars!!!

Both of my children have gone through this school with my youngest having graduated from the 5th grade back in May. The school is awesome and top notch. The teachers worked with my child who was working above grade level all the way through school. Our test scores speak for themselves. The staff is great. The teachers are great, and most of all the kids are great!

This is a new up-date. This school is top notch! I work here and am proud of what this school is and does for all who enter for an education. Granted, not everyone is made happy anywhere or at anytime. There will always be those 'few'; however, I am an educator and a professional and tell all of the virtues of this school//academically and socially. Considering the socio-economic status of the zone, we produce at or above the 'Chenal' area schools. Granted, the school is in dire need of repair and updating, after all, it is 50 years old. A great school/// William Smith

I have had 2 children go through this school and a 3rd child that has been there since Kindergarten (he is now in 4th grade). I also work in the education field and this is the only elementary school I would recommend in the Pulaski County Special School District. The teachers that my children have had have been exceptional except for one. I haven't always been impressed with the administrators but 95% of the teaching staff is awesome. The test scores for Bayou Meto speak for themselves. However, test scores are not always indicative of the teachers.

I am very disappointed in this school this year. The school offered no help for our child that was a little behind in his reading grades.

Let's face it, the school sits in Pulaski County. If you do some research you will find that in Pulaski County, this is one of the better schools. With that being said, it is still in sad shape. The school needs a complete face lift and the classrooms need some attention. As for the quality of teachers? That is a hit or miss. I have meet some very nice teachers in that school that want to make a difference but I have also meet some teachers that are just there for a pay check. It appears because this school is so far out it lacks attention from the district. My question is; where is all our tax money going? It certainly is not going into our school system. There are no extra's here. There's no P.E. program / sports. They (Staff) do try to be creative with the children.
