Academic focus and philosophy

Educational philosophy and approach to learning El Rancho is committed to maximizing student learning and personal responsibility. We offer several programs for those students that need extra time or instruction to master concepts. A tutorial period is offered twice a week during the school day. math academy is held before and after school each day and homework Club is available after school Monday through Thursday. In addition, we have special classes for struggling students and a program for students to make up credit.

Parent involvement details Communication with families takes place through our website and through electronic phone calls and emails. Parents are invited to Back to School Night, Open House and two Parent Visitation days where parents shadow their kids at school. We also have an extremely active PTSA for parents to join and participate. We invite each family to devote a minimum of ten hours to support their child's education.

Enrollment

Application/ enrollment process details Several parent meetings are held in late February to early March for families that are interested in enrolling. If you are not in our attendance area, it is best to contact the school prior to march 15 to find out about the open enrollment process. In late March, a lottery will be held to determine which outside students will gain admittance. The application process will remain open until the school is filled to capacity at which time a waiting list begins.
