Placer High School is the crown jewel of the PUHSD. It has a great teaching faculty, outstanding administration led by principal Peter Efstathiau, and a suoort staff of secrataries, counselors and support staff that put children first when it comes to running a school. I am a Placer grad(1984) and am ecstatic that my sons willnow attend Placer. It is great to be a Hillman!
Awesome School! Great Open Camous and Lots of Great Teachers
Placer-I went to this school last year! When I have kids I plan to send them to this school. They have great teachers and if you are struggling then the have privet tutors that will help you at any time. Also they have a great Football theam Go Placer! Also a good Volleyball, Basketball, and Track team, But are most famous 4 the Football. This school has had a Gold Elimpic Girl come from the school!!!!! You must go here!!!
There is no doubt that Placer High School was the best choice we could have made for our daughter. She found so much inspiration at that school. All the teachers she had seemed to care and want all their students to do better. What really changed her life though, was the clubs and activities on campus. She was involved with at least 4 clubs and had a wonderful time with all of them. Getting involved really is the key to this school. It's the kids that make everthing run smoothly and make things fun. The classes are a lot of self-directed learning. Every ounce of effort put forth by the students is returned four-fold by the teachers. I would recommend this school.
This School was an overall dissapointment. Several generations in my family have passed through and I was excited about my son going there. How things have changed in 25 years. Out of all my childs classes only one teacher seemed to really care about my childs education, future. My son only attended this school his frosh year and I would not send him back. I now drive him 16 miles away to go to Rocklin high with an intra-district transfer.....
My daughter has attended this high school since the ninth grade. She loves how the classes are mixed up so that there could be ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders in the same class. She loves the math teachers there because they inspire her to do better.
I like this school, it offers a good range of courses, but lacks in the sciences a bit. I thought that there was too much emphasis on athletics, and less on other activities and academics. The band has gotten rather good in recent years, and it also has a good jazz band.
Academic programs are good but limited in diversity of advanced courses. Athletic programs are good but school population is declining and will affect quality of programs. The parent involvement is limited to the same small group of people that volunteer to keep everything going.
Has decent academic programs some are lacking in the areas of math and english. Has plenty of sports, music, and art. Parent involvement is quite low. The principal is rarely around. Not much authority.
