My children have been going to Hillel since mommy and me, my oldest is in seventh grade and we wouldn't even think about another school since Hillel has everything you could ask for in a school. They have the highest standards in both general and Judaic studies. Several of my niece and nephews who graduated from Hillel have all been placed in higher level classes honers and AP. The administration and teachers have always been there for us, and the feeling we get is that we are part of one big family. I'm proud to say I graduated from Hillel and now so will my kids from an amazing school.
Nothing but a day-care center for middle school kids! They learn absolutely nothing in this school, all the school cares is money, the teachers don't care if your kid learn or not as long as the salary will keep on coming. What a disappointment and waist of time and money this school was!! Do yourself a favor; if you want your kid to lear, look for somewhere else. My other kids will not enter this so called "school", will look for other alternatives.
There are serious issues with administration, the way they handle just about everything. It's almost like they try to avoid parents' concerns. Once the sale is made, there is no customer service. Hillel is very big on advertising themselves and making appearance, they make you feel that your child will get some exceptional education, but nothing special in reality. Most importantly, school doesn't bring community together, b/c of lack of spiritual leadership.
Very surprised at the negative rating of this school. I have heard nothing but good things. Tuition has increased, but so has costs as Hillel bring an even higher level of education than any other school in Los Angeles. Why else would the YULA high school have to have a SPECIAL program for Hebrew JUST for Hillel students who are more advanced than the other school in Los Angeles.
I was so disappointed in Hillel. The administration does not care about the kids at all. They raised the tuition while cutting down on quality, getting rid of good teachers in favor of younger, lower paid teachers, and reducing services all around. They run the school like a money making venture, not a Torah based Jewish day school. Very sad.
Terrific school -- the children are happy, learning, and loving their teachers. The administration is cutting edge and innovative--words that don't usually describe an orthodox Jewish day school. The recently hired Principal, Mr. Tremblay, has already begun to make his mark bringing a high level math program to the school. We hear great things are just around the corner. We're so excited our entire family is at the school this year. Come aboard!
It is a wonderful school where teachers really care about the kids. I think it is one of the best options in Los Angeles.
The early education program is wonderful and 'Morah Sandi' is the greatest. My son loves going to school.
