Horribly rude and disrespectful Administrative staff. As a parent you hope for a nurturing and caring environment for your children, not run into people who have an negative attitude.
As a mom of a Kindergartner, it's exciting to start this educational journey at such a great school, with great parent support!
Edison Elementary expects a lot of its students and they learn to deliver! Faculty is very friendly and caring. My daughter is excited to go to school every morning. Lots of homework for the fourth grade, but they are learning responability. Edison is molding bright, enthusiastic leaders for tommorrow. I highly recommend.
They've made my son, who is a Celiac kid, comfy and made sure he's healthy and safe while at school.
All 3 of my children attended Edison and all the teachers were wonderful and I am so happy my grandson is now attending!
A wonderful school with a very caring principal. Extremely involved parents who congregrate before and after school to speak with teachers and each other about how they can enrich the scholastic experience. We really like the schools divided opening giving the teacher the opportunity to teach reading to only 1/2 the class for 45 minutes at a time. The teachers are very accessible and professional and the assemblies are very informative and ecclectic. This is one of Burbank's many gems!
When I think of all of the effort I put into getting my child into Edison, I only have bitter laughter. I've visited inside the campus twice and the office staff completely ignored my presence. The school has what is called a divided opening which is completely inconvenient. Whoever heard of having to bring your child to school at 9pm? Are all of the parents stay-at-home caregivers? The parents of the kindergartners hang out at the kindergarten entrance like gangmembers, blocking the entrance to the kindergartners. The kindergarten program is obviously suited for kids who had stay at home parents who taught them little to nothing. If your child attended any type of preschool program, expect major boredom with the possibility of some loss of skills. I have major regrets of turning down my child's acceptance into an LAUSD magnet school that was also a full-day kindergarten program and had API scores above 800.
Great school, lots of involved parents, Principle okay, most teachers amazing so far. Test scores and school rating have dropped since last year. Needs to be brought up. Other schools in the area, test scores rose. Used to be an 8 with an 822 score now we are a 7 with a 813 score.
My son has been attenting this schoo since K. He will be in 5th grade this coming up school year. We love the school, The teachers and all the staff are caring. The computer lap, field trips, art program and the music class are great addtion. The parents are very involved.I'm glad my son ended up at this school.
