Washington Elementary has a great principal and strong community. The teachers are very experienced. My four children have all had a positive experience at Washington.
Extremely weak leadership. The school is saved by the great works of the parents.
Washinton is a great school. There is a great community feel here. Good teachers, a pretty nice group of kids, and some very involed parents make Washington a very special place. If your lucky enough to live in this area, dont send your kids to private. Let them go to school with the great kids that live right next to them.
My family loves being a part of Washington Elementary. We all have had a very positive experience here. My two children are thriving, both academically and socially. They are challenged in class and have the benefit of experiencing the 'real world' with a diverse student population. My husband and I are both actively involved in the school and we have a real connection to this community. We have made life-long friends here. I think the new principal has brought a wonderful energy to our school and teachers are working together to make our school an even more interesting place to learn and grow. I would highly recommend Washington to any new family in Burlingame.
Principal's habitual at raising her voice to small children. Yelling seems to be her way of disiplining.
California public schools generally need a lot of extra help from its parents and community in order to give its students a great education. At Washington, the parents, teachers and administrators do exactly that. With a student there for 2 years, I have been surprised and inspired by the amount of interest and commitments is made to the school. This is the source of its success.
I am so pleased that Washington Elementary staff and community are finally getting the recognition they so deserve. I have been a parent at Washington for 5 years now, and knew after the first few days of Kindergarten that it was a special place. My daughter has received a top notch education and is part of a diverse community that cares about the school and each other. I couldn't be more proud that Washington has been named a California Distinguished School.
For the past two years, my daughter has had the utmost privilege of attending Washington School. Washington is a nurturing place where highly qualified teachers and dedicated parents create responsible citizens and lifelong learners in every student. Because of the this joyous place, our daughter loves to go to school each day.
I love this school and the teachers. They are friendly, dedicated and creative. My child is extremely happy and is performing above grade level. This is due to the fabulous teachers. I could not ask for more.
Washington School's diversity sets apart other schools in Burlingame. The students at Washington are all treated with a high level of respect, are academically challenged throughout the curriculum and are a great group of kids. The community is active, the teaching staff is well respected and the administration is first rate. Our family has been a part of the Washington school community for over 7 years and could not have asked for a better experience for our children.
