Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I highly recommend CORE to anyone looking for a tailored, comprehensive and compassionate educational experience. It allows my daughter the freedom to excel in a supportive non-judgemental environment. Her teacher doesn't know her as a set of test scores but as an individual with unique desires and interests which she encourages with customized excursions and unique report requests. It's amazing! The perfect blend of home based studies and on site course work.

I love this school and if you want to home based education with advice and direct, this is the place. The teachers personalize the program for each student.

Terrible school! Extremely lacking in teacher and parent communication. When the issues were brought to the attention of the director she simply dismissed them. I was told I understand this means something to you and I'm sorry.

I love CORE! They are so helpful and supportive. They have great classes for my daughter and she can get help any time she is stuck on a subject. They have lots of events and field trips.

CORE is a wonderful school with individualized learning programs for students, well taught classes at the center, and a place where student behavior and accountability are a premium. The staff is attentive to student and parent needs, and the students reciprocate with like attitude. The joy of learning is definately a theme at CORE.

The teachers are very caring and very flexible with scheduling. Being able to concurrently enroll your high school student in high school and college, gives your child a greater sense of independence and helps them to progress at a greater rate of speed. It helps keep them motivated in school

The personalized learning approach that CORE Butte uses is outstanding. It meets the needs of students as individuals, and yet still supports and encourages group learning, community involvement, and corporate activities. Also, all the teachers and staff are exceptional. My children enjoy their learning experience.

CORE Butte Charter School provides personalized learning, which is the most successful education method that I have witnessed! The students are respectful and attentive, because they are respected and given voice. This leads to exponential learning. The teachers are retained based on merit, rather than tenure, and the resulting higher quality of education is apparent.

CORE butte Charter school allows me to teach the way I always dreamed I could. With the school's help, I have turned many student's lives around, and I have seen students soar towards a potential that would have never been reached in other schools. Because of cohesive, cooperative staff, a genuine concern for students, and a personalized approach to learning, we are the best.

I appreciate the fact that CORE helps parents teach their own children at home and in classes for certain academic courses. CORE encourages students to enhance their learning with music and the arts, which feed the soul and spirit as well as develop the mind.

The curriculm is individually created for each student, allowing concurrent and college courses. The staff actually have time and initiative to concentrate on individuals, rather than negotiate through endless trails of red tape.

This school helped me so much. With great oppurtunities for each student and great teachers who will help study with you'r student one on one instead of having a class room full of kids. You just dont get that individual help anymore.

A great school that encourages parents in homeschooling their children through resources tailored to my son's needs. They also offer classes to supplement homeschooling. The teachers are great with the kids and parents alike.

The teachers don't waste their time teaching propaganda and instead turn their efforts and time toward educating the students in facts and educational information which is more realistic for applied learning.

I have tried different homeschools in the past and I believe that CORE butte charter school is the best. I home school my 4 children and I have for the past 6 years. I love being able to pick out a different curriculum every year if I choose to. I also think that the EU's that each family receives is very helpful in helping the children receive the social interaction skills that they need. Not to mention the wonderful teachers and families that are apart of the school. We are like one big family. I have tried public schools, private schools and 2 other homeschools and I believe that none of them compare to CORE butte charter school.

The teachers and staff at CORE are great! Both of our daughters who will graduate in May 2010 are already signed up for Butte College because of CORE and their caring staff. I have a feeling that what they have learned at CORE will effect their lives for many years to come.

I love the support it gives to us as homeschool families! It provides a community feel so you're not in isolation. They also provide great academic support through their credentialed teachers, classes, and school events! My daughter is learning so much and I know CORE has been a big part of this!

The personalized learning model has been a success for my son! He has attended CORE since kindergarten, and is now finishing his freshman year at the age of 13. The school addresses the needs of the individual student, from GATE to special education, kindergarten to senior. The children have access to the socialization they need through classes, workshops, field trips and other events. Some even graduate early because of concurrent enrollment in Butte College!

Core has opened up a new world for my kids. In public school, they were taught to the test, had to put up with bad language and bullys. They were never taught how to learn, to take notes, outline, or how to study. Now they have all possibilities opened up to them, and are looking forward to going to college and beyond.

I have never experienced a school so completely dedicated to the sucess of it's students. Every child is important and CORE Butte makes sure that the students know how important they are to the school and in their own lives. Amazing sense of community has been created between the staff, teachers, parents, stundents, and even friends and family of the students. As a parent I am thrilled to have my child attend CORE Butte. He has learned more in a single year than I ever imagined possible and so have I. I examined over a dozen schools before we enrolled at CORE and could not be happier with my descision.

My son has enjoyed this school. The curriculum choices have challenged him, but they have also been enjoyable. The teachers are wonderful, and always willing to help. Student's are given education credits to participate in various activities around the community. My family is very thankful we discovered Butte Charter School. This school is perfect for families wishing to home school their students while also receiving support from educational leaders.

If your child has a hard time within the large high school setting; this is the place to go. My high school student has been attending CORE for the past 2 years. This is where you can find a quality, catered-to-your child's-learning-style education. As a mother bear, I believe this is the best place in Chico for individual learning in a small group setting. The larger public school system does not support a child if his or her learning style is different from mainstream. I believe if a parent looks hard enough, within this school, a quality teacher for your child will surface. I think the IEP program could be stronger. The admin support is excellent, student support is great with the overall school environment focused on academic success. I have seen my student grow thanks to the efforts of CORE.

My son is in the 10th grade at CORE & he has an IEP & has tutoring to help him. they go beyond helping. They adjust the books for his reading level. The special Ed teacher goes all out to help him. Where in public schools he did not get the help he needed.

My daughter attends CORE and she is in the 9th grade. CORE is a breath of fresh air from the turmoil of most public schools. The teachers care about the students, my daughter loves the academic enviroment and the kids are nice, no gang bangers, no Juvenile Hall ankle braclet wearers and it is all about the community and learning. I highly recommend this school.

My son attended CORE for first grade, and we loved the program. The teachers were always there to help us, and the curriculum was great. My son learned alot in CORE and was successful in public school for 2nd grade because of his experience with CORE.

I attended CORE for a short time and did not enjoy it at all. There are not enough teachers to offer help to the students and I also didn't learn anything. They can't help your student with classes such as chemistry because they don't have the resources. I would choose Chico High, PV High, or Paradise High any day over CORE.
