Graduated 2008- Its a mediocre school at best. Not very well suited for sending people to college outside of Chico State, To attend a decent college, you will have to do all the work yourself. that being said, I was accepted to every school I applied to (two UCs, Cal Poly, Oregon). Fairly lazy teachers overall, but a couple were quite good.

I graduated from P.V. in 2002 and I am, to say the least, hurt by the negative reviews seen on this site. My education at P.V. was filled with fantastic teachers (I wish I could list you all, but the site forbids the use of names) and memorable experiences. If you are a parent or a student and are feeling less-than-fulfilled with your experience, then I highly suggest becoming involved in extra-curricular activities on campus. When I went to P.V., the level of pride that was felt emanating from the students and athletes was incredible. It was always a "great day to be a Viking!" I am now a teacher in Santa Ana, CA, and am constantly reminded of how lucky I was to have attend Pleasant Valley High School. I certainly hope that the negative reviews are coming from individuals who simply haven't found their niche yet, or from parents who don't realize that education begins in the home. I just can't believe that P.V. is anything less than a great school.

I graduated from P.V. in 2004! Some great teachers, some bad ones. Very college oriented!

I think this school needs help. There are a lot of drugs on campus, and many of the teachers don't care about the students. Most of the classes have over 36 students, making the classroom impossible to learn in. Students are made fun of if they do well in school, and are not encouraged to learn. Very sad.

My daughter attends P.V. I think it's a great school. Not all, but some teachers will stay after school to make sure any problems the student may be having gets addressed. My daughter is in the 11th grade and so far, we've had no problems. When her grades slacked, we contacted her teachers and they were more than happy to let us know what she needs to do to get her her grades up.

My son attended this school last year. I have to say I was intensley disappointed. The teachers are truly awful. They don't seem to enjoy their jobs or the students they teach. The student body is like any other, some good and some bad. This school seems to focus only on the 'problem' students and seems to have no time or interest in kids that are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Coming to school on time with their assignments done. The academics are just shy of a joke. I can't even imagine how a student could fail a class. Even when kids rarely show up and barely do their work they seem to find a way to pass them with a 'c' average. It seems to be pass at all costs. I am glad we only attended this school for one year. I will not be returning next

My attendance at this school was not an enjoyable experience. The school faculty and environment applauds average students and teachers treat students differently based on their academics - and the studnets iwth high grades often feel ashamed of them because of the special treatment lower-reaching students recive.
