As a single parent of 3...this school has worked w/me when challenges/obstacles come my way..I'm greatful. I would also like to add that the secretary in the main office REALLY impresses me. I've witnessed and observed how much she juggles, answers and directs parents, answers phone in such a professional way every time I go in...thank you for your HARD work. Yes, I do believe that there are those who should not blame kids or parents for their career choice(obvious burn out) they should leave or change careers...but there are also those there @ Castle Park Middle School that continue to show kids and parents their interest in the kids there the best they could..and to those I say thank you!

I have watched this school change from an amazing place to a pathetic excuse for a school. The front office is in way over its head and over half of the staff has left in the past year. It makes me wonder why the school district is letting this campus be guided down the path of failure. 25 years of work to improve a school washed down the drain in a year by inexperienced leadership.

I love Castle Park Middle school. My son is a special ed student. He attended another school and was picked on and bullied and afraid to go to school. Teacher told him he wasn't very intelligent. That other school was awful! Since being at Castle Park, my son has been learning and making friends. We had one small problem with one bully. I called the principal and he had a counselor intervene with my son and the bully. This happened the same day I called. No problem with the bully since then. There are lots of after school activities & homework help. The teachers are awesome! They go out of their way to help the parents and students. The psychologist is so sweet and very helpful! Many principals don't have much to do with special ed. This principal is very in tune with special ed & all students.

Castle Park Middle has started a new academic program called Middle Years Program that my daughter just went through. It is part of the International Bacaureate Program. We were very happy with this college prep program and our student really enjoyed it. The school had many ways of supporting our daughter during and after school. Teachers were always available for academic support or tutoring. They have many activities like sports, clubs, choir and a big band. Our daughter was involved with the Sally Ride Science Club. I always felt welcomed and I know that there is a Parent Center for support

I recently attended the 7th grade orientation with my child and am very unhappy with the lack if any kind of individuality that the children are allowed to express. From the dress code to writting on there folders, I think you guys are way out of control or I guess I should say way too in control. This age is very cricial to kids in finding who they are and what they like. I understand that school is a place for them to learn and that they shouldn't be worried about what they are wearing compared to what everybody has on, but that said, Ccompletely controlling what they wear down to the cut of their pants is not letting them make decisions for themselves or express themselves outwardly. That is also an important part of their growing process. This dress code of yours is more strict than the one my daughter had in elementary school. Treat the kids with some dignity and respect and not punish all for the actions of some bad. If the reason for this code is to keep gangs out of the school, that is laughable. Gang members are going to know each other regardless of your dress code. I hope that my initial feelings about this school are wrong and that my daughter will grow and learn in this seemingly stifling environment.

This is a great school to be at. The teachers care about what happens to the kids and the focus of the school is to provide the best education possible for the kids that come to us everyday.
