Kindergarden started out shakey, when our child had 3 different teachers that year. They lost a great principal, and the one they have now is not as involved. 1st grade has great teachers! However with budget cuts, there are no aides in the class or PE this year, and it seems that 2nd grade will have greater then 30 students! Was excited to have our child go to this school, not so much anymore since they seem to be cutting everything that makes the school a great school.

I moved all the way to Colfax because a friend of mine raved about the school. The school is nice but the staff is not followed by superiors. My sons 5th grade teacher was horrible to him. I do not recommend sending your kids to this school. The new princibal has no participation with the students and the school is running into the ground. And my friend who raved is pulling her kids out to put them in Chicago park. Hope this helps!

I am a freshman in high school. I went to this school from 3rd grade to 8th. I am indebted to the incredible staff, teachers and parent helpers for making those years a truly amazing experience for me and for others. They shaped my mind and my heart in a way other school's have not done for my friends. Many say that this school is not as good as some others academically, and that may be true however this school changed my life and I thank God for them all the time!

Great teachers, and the special ed teacher Mrs Curtis is exceptional, truly one of a kind. My kids have great memories of being at this school.

The Gate Program was changed and was better last year. We need to change it back. Mrs. Cooper did a great job. The children worked together and broadened their minds. It was based on a MENSA design recommended by NASA. Discipline has improved dramatically. They are using a more positive reward based system. The Principal is doing a great job. He is enthusiastic and energetic. The library needs more books. More parents need to be involved in what their children are doing. The kids have PE only twice a week.
