My school is by far the best school in the county. We're not the richest, we don't have the most amazing sports teams, we don't have the nicest classrooms, but we do have something that a lot of schools don't.. We have heart, and pride, and spirit. We are a family. We get judged so much just because we live in, "the ghetto". We take all of the hate from the other high schools and use it to our advantage. We do our very best EVERYDAY, to prove that we are way more than people say we are. The more people talk down on us, the more we rise up, not only as students, but as a family, and we stick up for our school by scoring as best on tests as we can, and by graduating, and by staying with our school no matter what. We are Eagles. Eagles sore. We wont let any school talk down to us because we know we have as equal of a chance for success as they do. We have that eagle pride, hating on us, our teachers, our school, and even our city, wont change us. Get on our level.

I have recently graduated in 2011 and with all my four years here I can say that the school is great. It may have gone down in fun, especially the '10-'11 year, but has gone up in education and learning wise. I will start with the BAD. This was the year that we got a new principle that treats all the students like criminals and doesn't get involved (she just shows up at places and thats about it). We have more administration than you can count on one hand which is too much. Teachers, on the other hand, are something that this school needs more of, since most teachers have an average teaching span of about a year or two. The school in great need of money and when they do have some it's used in unecessary such as 'Thinking Maps' where students are foced on using them rather than a plain old Venn Diagram. Now the great things, students love to get involved and participate in extra-curicular activities (too bad there isnt that many) with programs such as the Urban Art Movement and the award winning ROTC Junior Marine Corps. The school is a really safe place with recent crime sweeps around the city and gang related violence is almost to none with the no-tolerance the school has placed.

This school is terrible. Don't come here. I'm graduating this year but the '10-11 school year is going to be very very bad. We are losing our 4-class block schedule and many good teachers are being fired and replaced by new teachers placed by the state. Many extra-curricular classes are being cut so don't expect your student to form any life skills in this high school. On top of that, the population is mostly gangs or gang-inspired kids who will hurt anyone on a whim, sometimes only for attention. The behavior here is a big problem. All four years of my experience were horrible, and though I liked the nice faculty, the students consisted mostly of people I would enjoy strangling. Seriously, don't go to this school.

This high school has amazing programs that students can participate and be involved in. I graduated from this school two years ago and all my sucess was inspired by the staff at Desert Hot Springs High School.

I have two students who attend this school they are both in Avid and are taking AP and honors classes. I think the staff is wonderful. I would like to see more parent participation for football games especially AWAY games !

It's a good school. It happens to be a lot better than what most people think. The teachers are amazing and the campus is beautiful.

Desert Hot Springs High School is not as bad as others make it. People base schools on their sports acheivment & not academic things. This school has one of the best academic programs in this valley. So before people put down this school, be a part of it first.

I feel DHSHS is the best highschool in the Palm Springs Unified school district, with a Principal that can't be beat. I feel the teachers do the best they can with the students with what ever support and resources they have available to them. I am proud to say my child attends DHSHS and feel they are receiving the best eduaction possible of all the high schools in the Palm Springs Unified school district.

Overall I'm very happy with our new little highschool. I feel for the level of money our poor town has, we are doing very well. Each year that passes our school is doing better and better. Could not ask for a more polticaly correct, or fair principal, I feel he's done an outstanding job for us. This is my daughter's 3rd year there, I feel she's done very well. The school offers sports, even though the facility for them isn't all there yet, and still we do quite well. Like everything this school is what we make of it. I feel it has a very good base to run with. The more we can be involved for our children, the better the school will be able to serve us. I hope everyone keeps up the hard work.

I am a senior at DHSHS. I think that DHSHS is a good school. I feel safe at school and I feel that I am receiving a good education. The only [thing] that that needs to be improved are the extracurricular activities, not just in school but in DHS too. There is nothing to do after school. Also I don't [think] that there is enough parent involvement at school.

This is a great school. I have three children here this year. The teachers for the most part are wonderful. The principal does a great job of recognizing our children for good or bad. The one thing that needs improvment is parental involment.
