I have three children at this school and I am very satisfied with the teachers, and particularly with the overall environment. A very caring community.

My son is an 8th grader at St Rita this year and every student in his class got accepted into their first choice high school -- many with honors! The education and the community that he has been exposed to has been top notch and we are so thankful for making this choice for his education.

St. Rita School offers an education for Pre-K through 8th grade in a loving, supportive community. Children of all faiths are welcome to come and experience a truly wonderful educational experience that instills basic values and morals along the way. Forgiveness, kindness, love and respect for all are taught at every step of the way and bullying is not tolerated. Any instances are dealt with by the faculty and the children learn to support each other and communicate to solve issues. Our three children are alumni of the school and we are all grateful that they had the loving, nurturing, experience of learning and growing at St. Rita's. The teachers really do care about their students and it shows!! We are fighting to save this school. There is a possibility that it will close, but that is not definite. A lot of parents are signing contracts for the 2013/2014 school year and with God's help (and maybe your help) cc this school will continue for many generations. The economy is recovering! We need time to rebuild this wonderful little community school!! Call for a tour. 415.456.1003 for the office.

Caring, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers in a small school enviornment...I like the emphasis placed upon teaching the basics: math, literature, writing and the sciences.

This school is the best kept secret in Marin. All of the teachers are fabulous! All religions are welcome and included. The art, Spanish, and Science programs are top notch.

Great academics that include Spanish, a science lab, and an amazing middle school staff! Elementary school staff are very nurturing and the kids learn tons while having a lot of fun. Small class sizes and attentive teachers. This school is fabulous.

St Rita school is the best value for a private school in Ross Valley. My two kids have been here since Kindergarten and have been challenged by the curriculem and enjoy every day. The teachers are extremely passionate about this school and the students. While the public schools are cuting back, we have an amazing music program, band, PE, Spanish, library time, computers, and art twice per week. The science classroom and teacher is the best you'll find for an elementary school. The Social Studies teacher challenges the Elementary and Middle School kids with facinating projects. The parents, faculty and staff are sincerely nice, passionate people. The students are expected to be polite and caring. I couldn't be happier since my kids LOVE every day at St Rita.

Our children are now in middle school at St. Rita and have attended the school since Kindergarten. The interested, quality teachers combined with small classes provide for great academics. The school has a down to earth and unpretentious environment where all students and families feel welcome and participate in the many school activities. With Spanish, Music, Technology, Art and PE, it has an enriching curriculum. It is a real gem in Marin!

The best 7th and 8th grade teachers around-really! From Language Arts to Science, History and Math-they are enthusiastic, dedicated and dynamic. The administration needs to be overhauled as do some of the archaic protocols regarding the 'religious' instruction. No accommodations made for those with different belief systems. The religious teaching is definitely not very light!

We have 3 children at St. Rita and have experienced teachers who care and love what they do and are fully committed to the kids. There is a diverse group of families, many of whom are very engaged in the school community. Its an environment that allows children to have a wonderful, challenging education, in addition to fostering the virtues inherent in childhood...innocence, imagination and curiosity.

We tried this school because St. Anselm's was full-with a very long waiting list. What a mistake! We now understand why St Rita's had plenty of room. The administration is only concerned with fundraising. Many of the teachers are wonderful but they get very little support from the administration. There are some very nice families with very nice kids. There are also some not very nice kids and they run the show-or should I say the playground?

St. Rita School is such a gem. A wonderful mixture of strong academics and welcoming community. We are not Catholic. We chose St. Rita's based on rave reviews from parents, their academic record and individual attention. Our child has been challenged beyond what any public school would have offered her, but in a way that gave her confidence, not pressure. St. Rita's excels at inspiring kids to want to learn and reach their full potential. Check out their website--the kids radiate happiness and friendship!

St. Rita's is an outstanding school that emphasizes both education and respect for others as the students lead their lives. I am heartened every day when I see the warmth exuded by the teachers for students throughout the school (not just those in their own classrooms), and for the respect students show each other. The school is very strong academically, which is important to us, but perhaps even more importantly, the school treats the children with great love and kindness. We also value the student-to-teacher ratio in every class. All in all, St. Rita s embodies what a great school should be. Parents could not make a better choice for their kids.

Saint Rita School has fantastic teachers. They have the number 1 kindergarten and 1st grade teachers of any school in Marin County. The middle school teachers are also the best in the area compared to the other private and public schools. The academic programs stand above the public schools without question. The community of parents are very involved and supportive of the school for the benefit of the children. You know from the first meeting of any of the parents that they care deeply that their children receive a top-notch education. Which is why these parents have chosen Saint Rita School. The local community people has commented that they know a Saint Rita School student by their manners and respect for others. The students are taught academics as well as respect and good manners. Our research and talking with neighbors confirmed that Saint Rita is the best!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
