St Rita school is the best value for a private school in Ross Valley. My two kids have been here since Kindergarten and have been challenged by the curriculem and enjoy every day. The teachers are extremely passionate about this school and the students. While the public schools are cuting back, we have an amazing music program, band, PE, Spanish, library time, computers, and art twice per week. The science classroom and teacher is the best you'll find for an elementary school. The Social Studies teacher challenges the Elementary and Middle School kids with facinating projects. The parents, faculty and staff are sincerely nice, passionate people. The students are expected to be polite and caring. I couldn't be happier since my kids LOVE every day at St Rita.
Our children are now in middle school at St. Rita and have attended the school since Kindergarten. The interested, quality teachers combined with small classes provide for great academics. The school has a down to earth and unpretentious environment where all students and families feel welcome and participate in the many school activities. With Spanish, Music, Technology, Art and PE, it has an enriching curriculum. It is a real gem in Marin!
The best 7th and 8th grade teachers around-really! From Language Arts to Science, History and Math-they are enthusiastic, dedicated and dynamic. The administration needs to be overhauled as do some of the archaic protocols regarding the 'religious' instruction. No accommodations made for those with different belief systems. The religious teaching is definitely not very light!
Our child has been at St Rita for two years after being in the public school system. He is thriving there academically and socially. There have been zero bullying issues - these children are taught to be nice from day 1. The teachers are amazing and very caring. 40% of the population is not Catholic - the religious teaching is very light.
We have 3 children at St. Rita and have experienced teachers who care and love what they do and are fully committed to the kids. There is a diverse group of families, many of whom are very engaged in the school community. Its an environment that allows children to have a wonderful, challenging education, in addition to fostering the virtues inherent in childhood...innocence, imagination and curiosity.
We tried this school because St. Anselm's was full-with a very long waiting list. What a mistake! We now understand why St Rita's had plenty of room. The administration is only concerned with fundraising. Many of the teachers are wonderful but they get very little support from the administration. There are some very nice families with very nice kids. There are also some not very nice kids and they run the show-or should I say the playground?
St. Rita School is such a gem. A wonderful mixture of strong academics and welcoming community. We are not Catholic. We chose St. Rita's based on rave reviews from parents, their academic record and individual attention. Our child has been challenged beyond what any public school would have offered her, but in a way that gave her confidence, not pressure. St. Rita's excels at inspiring kids to want to learn and reach their full potential. Check out their website--the kids radiate happiness and friendship!
Saint Rita is a wonderful student-centered school. There kindergarten is loving yet academic. The students graduate well prepared and confident to attend any high-school!
St. Rita's is an outstanding school that emphasizes both education and respect for others as the students lead their lives. I am heartened every day when I see the warmth exuded by the teachers for students throughout the school (not just those in their own classrooms), and for the respect students show each other. The school is very strong academically, which is important to us, but perhaps even more importantly, the school treats the children with great love and kindness. We also value the student-to-teacher ratio in every class. All in all, St. Rita s embodies what a great school should be. Parents could not make a better choice for their kids.
Best school in Marin County. The class ratio is small, teachers are wonderful, and the students really care about one another.
