I'm a parent of a 4th grader and love this school. The majority of teachers are exceptional and really care about the kids. The principal, Dr. McCarty, is a dynamo and a true leader. Very organized, communicative, and responsive to student, staff and parent needs/concerns. Glenoaks parents are extremely involved and committed.They take great ownership in the school and are largely responsible for creating the school's strong sense of community. The school imparts wonderful values. My daughter is thriving academically and socially, but is also a compassionate and responsible person. Weaknesses: School lunches are unhealthful here, and throughout the GUSD (chain fast food served once a week!) After care (EELP) has great teachers mixed in with less experienced ones.

My son is in Kindergarten and he loves it! His teacher Mrs. Newman is fantastic! This school continues to impress us. The PTA is very involved which makes all the difference in the world to a public school. I would highly recommend GES to everyone

I am a recent graduate of Glenoaks. I cant say how much i loved that school. From the teachers to the other students, Glenoaks is always keeping everyone happy. I would definatley want to take kids of mine there because overall it is a perfect place for education and socializing. Glenoaks rules!!!! :]

My son is a 6th grader and leaves this year, but my daughter goes to the 4th grade and both love the school. My family and I can't talk enough about the teacher's and staff. We love them all.Parent involvement is so good. Everyone at Glenoaks knows each other is like family. We all know each kid and their parents and are very happy with everyone..

My daughter transfered two years ago from another school and the first negative point I have to give to Glenoaks is the security. Most of the good teachers have been there for a long time and might soon retire, others already have. Overall, compared to their old school, is dissapointing.

I have to say that this school is *very* organized! The PTA, Foundation, & the Principle, make sure that parents & students are kept up with the latest information. In addition, they plan many fun & exciting activities throughout the year. These activities & functions definitely help make parents want to be much more involved & what gives Glenoaks that 'family' feeling. Academically, it is a challenging school & Glenoaks prides itself on making sure that your child will get the best from them. My two daughters are very happy here & I am more than satisfied with the attention my daughters -- our family -- has been receiving thus far.

The best in GUSD! The best principal, the best front secretary and the best teachers! My kids have been going here for the last 3 years (we had a bad experience with another school)they love it. This school feels like one big happy family. There is so much parent involvement at the school and school functions, it's great because almost every parent knows each other. The kids are taught by teachers who really care about teaching. I am so pleased with my childrens academic progress at Glenoaks. Children are taught to be respectful and kind to each other, anything less would not acceptable here. I really admire the way the principal and the teachers have made this school a safe and bully-free place, for children to enjoy learning. There is chorus, P.E., orchestra classes, jog-a thons, and much more. They also have after school classes, which are great. Glenoaks is the Best!

Both my boys love their school and I am so happy that we live in this school district. Glenoaks is one of the best schools in the Glendale area and the success is the outcome of a high level of parent involvement and constant communication between staff and parents and the many extracurricular activities available that you do not find at many other schools.

Glenoaks has an incredible amount of parent/caregiver volunteers, assisting in the classroom, library and computer lab. I believe teachers and staff truly care about each student and try to create the best learning environment and experience for everyone. GlenoaksPlus, ELP and GATE classes are intellectually stimulating and inspiring, while run by impassioned teachers.
