It's great to be part of a school that pursues academic excellence and character-building qualities with equal strength. Christian values and constant improvement in classroom technology, performing arts and mission outreach are foundational. As a grandparent, I can't think of a better place for my grandson to attend school.

Really!? The students received Principle Awards three trimesters in the roll received a principle awards dog tag!!! Could the school be a little bit serious in rewarding students' hard work especially for the 8th grade graduates. We would like to suggest school to give out honor cords to those graduating with straight-As in 8th grade years, that will be a lot more meaningful than the dog tag! This was very disappinting!

Our daughter is wrapping up her first grade year at FCS. We love it. The teachers are wonderful! They are very nurturing while providing a strong curriculum of learning mixed with fun. The best part about it is that she is learning in a good Christian environment.

This school has sunk to an all new low. We withdrew our child after three years of ongoing problems with teachers, the administration and our son being severely buliied by two children in his class. One came after my child with a pair of scissors while the other the son of ne of the teachers no less verbally harrassed our child to the point that he did not want to go to school. We made numerouse attempts to communicate and correct these problems. Even compling with the administration with having our son tested for an LD. When we finally decided to leave we respectfully requested a refund for the tuition we had paid in advance but had not yet received the services. Instead of refunding the 1 months tuition and childcare we received a letter thanking us for our "Donation to their annual fund" I am happy to report that our child is now in a safe nurturing atmosphere, but I strongly caution anyone who is considering Foothill Christian to think twice - This school is not run on Christian principles.

My daughter started the 6th grade a few weeks ago and we are extremely happy with this school. The teachers along with the principle are awesome. Just spend some time there and you will agree. See it for yourself. We came from BUSD and we are happy with the move.

This school is making a huge difference in the life of my daughter. She loves her teachers and they absolutely love her. The academics are excellent, but it's also all of the other dimensions of life and learning that are helping her blossom. She's getting a fantastic education with Christian purpose.

FCS is an amazing school with a world class faculty. All you need to do is visit the campus and spend some time with the teachers and you will see how dedicated they to your children's academic and spiritual success. Amazing place!

The teachers do have credentials. They do have Bachelor's degrees and some have Masters degrees. They may not all be California Credentials therefore they are not on the California Public School Website. Credentials from other states are often more difficult to acquire.

Foothill Christian is an incredible school. My older children attended years ago and now my younger ones attend. We have been blessed with some amazing teachers who have touched our lives in many ways. We have made some great friends that share values that are very important to us. Academically my children excel. FCS has touched many aspects of our lives! We couldn't ask for more. We love FCS!!!

A quick review of the Board of Education website reveals that 5 of the teachers do not have their teaching credentials. Sad to say that our child s teacher is one of them. We were appalled to find out that our child was only receiving two days of math lessons on a regular basis because we didn t have time was the excuse given by the teacher. It s sad to see that individuals are posting supposed facts without doing the proper research. Also, the administrator asks that teachers of students that attend the school as well as other teachers post excellent reviews on this website. In agreement with other posts, negative aspects of the school are quickly covered up and kept from the parents. It's never a good thing when an administrator asks teachers to lie to keep school ratings up.

Worth Every Penny! I have no regrets having put my children through this school! It was definitely a sacrifice, but well worth it! It disturbs me greatly to see the negative, false comments posted here. Fact: Foothill's teachers are credentialed, and the school has dual accreditation through WASC and ACSI. Fact: The administration is Amazing! Fact: A balanced eduacation is the priority. Fact: Foothill students go on to local high schools and graduate at the top of their classes! As parents, we have an awesome responsibility to set our children up for success in life. This place was consistent with our values, and my kids are thriving! What more could I ask for?!!! Thanks Foothill! Go check that place out for yourself!

I have two children at Foothill (5th grader and a Kinder) and I can't say enough good things about our experience at Foothill. We are surrounded by teachers and staff who truly care about their students. The sense of family is heartfelt. I believe we are blessed to have the opportunity to allow our children to get a superior education in a wonderful Christian environment. It is a win win situation.

We are extremely pleased with our daughter's education at Foothill. Any person who is seriously exploring private Christian education for their child, needs to come and see this school for themselves. Visit the classrooms and meet the teachers. It's the best investment we ever made.

This school has become awful over the last few years. The administration tells half-truths to incoming applicants. Most of the teachers do not have valid California teaching credentials. You can check your child's teacher at the california department of education web site. It is public information. There are reasons (other than the economy) that have caused the attendance to drop almost in half since my child started kindergarten at FCS. FCS Administrators do a bad job and have made terrible descisions regarding the school's direction (some are mentioned in earlier posts). Shame on the FCS administarators... my child will be moving from FCS for jr. high school. We've had enough.

I thought we were the only parents who thought that we were wasting money on a school that seems to revolve around the sense of entitlement. We wish more parents were honest about private schools. They are not all they are cracked up to be, especially Foothill. It is apparent that there are others who think this based on some of the prior reviews. It's almost like the parents are blind to what is going on, which is simply poor education and frivolous parents.

Wow, I have to say that FCS is not worth the money. My child has learned so little this year, I believe that it has done more harm then good. You can not have educators who are not credentialed. I am also disgusted with the politics of who is who and what they have...It's nothing but smoke and mirrors and the kids are out of control and disrespectful. The school has become a let down over the past several years and I am not impressed with the staff or the quality of teaching. Don't be fooled by the Godly approach...you will not be happy with anything but the smaller amount of children who attend. I would rather have my child at public school were state standards are being met. The tuition is high and the school can't even get our children the appropriate up to date curriculum. Don't waste your money.

We have a Kindergartner at FCS, and I truly can't say enough good things. We live in La Verne which has an exceptional school district. However, we decided to take a look at Christian private schools. When we visited the FCS we knew without question that it was the right fit for our family. We couldn't be happier with our decision because our son is thriving, both academically and spiritually. Academically, there is no question that the curriculum is superior to that of BUSD. The biggest difference is the built in enrichment programs, such as the music classes, computer time, science and library services. FCS places a lot of emphasis on character development, and does it through positive reinforcement. The administration is very hands on, easily accessible to me as a parent, and I love that. FCS is exactly what they claim to be, 'Decidedly Academic, and Distinctively Christian.'

My children attended Foothill Christian since the preschool and both have graduated and gone on to public high schools where they have done very well. I totally disagree with some of the postings I've seen about the school. Any school has it's ups and downs as with any business. However Foothill Christian School has far exceeded our expectations in almost all cases. Any of the areas where we had issues were always listened to and delt with to our satisfaction. Our last child graduated last year and is flourishing in a very competitive high school. I applaud the administration for having the courage to make some hard (and very necessary) changes last year. There is such a difference this year in the atmosphere and there is a new sense of unity and purpose. We loved our experience and would highly recommend to anyone!

I am so pleased with all I see at Foothill Christian. This is the first year there for my two children. They love their teachers and they are learning so much. All curriculum is standard based. Not only are the academics top knotch, but so are the state of the art facilities. The daily enrichment classes that are available for all students are a huge plus. The environment is so positive that even I as a parent love to be involved in activities. God's love and biblical beliefs are integrated into all aspects of the school which help create a safe and positive learning and growing environment for all students.

Sorry to say that you will be paying simply for the security of your children, not a better education! My son transfered to a public school and did very poorly in math. The weird thing is that at Foothill he was above average in math every year. The enrichment classes are fantastic, however, the language arts/math programs could use a bit of help. The new changes to the school have definitely not been for the better!

I am very concerned about the old curriculum the school is using, even my child realizes how old the pictures are. If I am paying such a highly monthly rate, why can't we get more updated curriculum? My next door neighbors children go to public schools and have the best books and I am thinking credentialed teachers. I am very concerned about the lack of academic leadership....lack of support for higher students and lack of support for lower academic students. I am starting to think this is not worth the investment....

I am the parent of two children that attended Foothill from K-7 and K-5 and this year, I too felt the need to remove both my kids, who were very sad to leave their friends, but understood that the lack of education was out of control. My kids were both 4.0 students at foothill their entire careers there and I have had to pay for a tutor to help them succeed in Glendora's public school system this year. I will admit that the character of the Foothill student is exemplary, but this is a credit to the parents of those children, not the school itself. If you have mostly Christian parents that are willing to pay the hefty price for their kids' private education, chances are they are also pretty involved with their kids and therefore raising solid kids. Unfortunately this school is going downhill fast! What a shame!!!!!

I agree with the poor reviews. I am so disappointed with the directiion the school is going. We hear one thing and see another. My daughter started high school last year and her SAT scores were below average in English Language Arts. I know, much of that is due to the horrible Reading/Writing program at Foothill. I was happy with the character of most of the teachers but there is no leadership or academic accountability. Additionally, many of the finest teachers were let go or left last year.

I have, sadly, watched this school's quality decline over the past 5 years. This is a school withouth direction and the administration's vision for fixing things seems a bit chaotic (firing most of the teachers, bringing most of them back, consolidating campuses, eliminating the PTF). There is too much uncertainty at Foothill Christian for my family. I am moving my children to a public school here in Glendora.

I couldn't be happier with Foothill Christian. It is disappointing to see some of the comments because I know for a fact that the kids are getting a much better education then at the public school. This school is in the midst of a massive reorganization under a new pastor. The administration has really failed the families and students over a number of years by hiring unqualified teachers, not monitoring staff, and eliminating the PTF. I, for one, do not want my kids to be the guinea pigs as they struggle through a reorganization that will take a couple of years.

I disagree with the previous review. Unfortunately, we are in terrible economic times. There are things that need to be done in order for this wonderful school to flourish. The pastor and the church council understand that the decisions were hard to make. As a parent I am glad they got rid of the teachers who were not doing enough for the students. I am also glad that they got rid of teachers whose hearts were not right with the mission of the school and Christ. Parents that are that upset may need to leave. Staying only spreads lies and those lies spread like wildfire.

FCS is a cult in the making. For the past 2 years FCS has drastically changed. Before, FCS was a great school, but since FCS got a new pastor, the school has been completly different. The new pastor is going to drive the school into the ground. He has brainwashed everybody in the school and is firing teachers that have been teaching at the school for over 10 years. Some teachers are horrible, barely teach and don't give the kids any challlenges. The church is taking over the school. Don't send your kids here.

We have three chinldren who have attended FCS. The education has been good and our daughter finished freshman year at St. Lucys with outstanding grades. This tells us that she has been well prepared for the next step. What is exceptional about this school is the type of character our children have. This is evident in their attitudes towards each other and others, relationships with their peers and their love for God. We have seen this in most of the children that our kids associate with. The values that are taught to them mirror those we strive for at home. There is not a price tag to be placed on that. So can you get a less expensive education? Yes. Can you pay for a better education? probably you can. Will your child be as well rounded and spritually, morally and socially? Probably not!

Although it has been a sacrifice financially to send our 2 kids to FCS, it has been well worth it. The teachers, staff and administration are great. They care deeply about the children and are giving them a wonderful education. Many people have said 'choose your teacher wisely' but I know that would be true of any school. At least at FCS, choosing a teacher is actually an option. I do not choose my children's teachers because I know that all of them are great.

Foothill Christian has everything a parent looks for in a school. They encourage academic achivement as well as spiritual growth. The school is lead by a very Godly man who takes the time to get to know all of the families. I have three children who attend Foothill Christian School. I am very pleased with the quality of education they receive at this school. I have one child in Jr. High who has been consistently challenged and motivated to succeed. The teachers really impact the students both academically and spiritually. I really value the emphasis the school places on missions. All three of my children are involved in making a difference in the lives of others in need all around the world. This is a habit that I feel will stay with them well into their adult life. The foundations that are being laid here at Foothill will remain an important part of who each of them become.

I have two children that have attended Foothill Christian since kindergarten. Foothill has helped my children not only grow academically, but spiritually. Staff and teachers at all grade levels take the time to walk through difficult issues with students that help develop their character. The transition from elementary school to jr. high was wonderful. The teachers are great. They are supportive and encouraging. They push the kids to do their best academically and to be kind and loving to each other. I would not want my children at any other school!

Both my children have attended Foothill Christian School from Kindergarten through 8th grade. This school has been excellent not only because of the amazing teachers there but the administration is very involved and it's a real community there where people care. I agree with choose your teacher carefully! This our first year there & in California. Our teacher is suppsed to be 'one of the best' , but she is picking our son apart. No one will listen, because she appears to be kind - we have gone to her class & seen other kids do the same thing - get out of their seat, talk without raising their hands - that she complains our son does. He is a straight A student, gifted, a bit precocious at times, but in no way does he deserve to be treated the way he is. We ae christians, but I do not think we fit their mold, they are too legalistic. I do not recommend it - and we are looking for another school.

Choose your teacher wisely! One year you may have the best teacher or you may have a horrible year. I am worried that my child has not learned anything this year. FCS has been a tremendous blessing for our family. Not only do they exemplify Christian morals and values, they teach the students ethics and responsibility. I am more than happy with the academics (being a former teacher in both private and public schools). My daughter is well prepared for first grade. My oldest son attended FCS for Kindergarten and First Grade. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, we were unable to continue there once our second child started school, but we loved it there and so did he! His kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Parenti, was awesome. She has high energy and loads of patience and truly loves her kids. She involves the parents in everything and gives the kids a great introduction to school. His first grade teacher, Mrs. Chance, was also great and though she doesn't involve the parents as much, she teaches the kids so much by providing interactive activities for them to learn through. The principal is a caring man who is highly visible and approachable. The PTF works hard to provide great things for the school and parents can be heavily involved in their child's education there. We will truly miss it and hope to possibly return should finances change.

The level of education offered at Foothill Christian is what is needed to prepare for the rigors of high school. The staff works with the students understanding each student as not only a student but also a person who has ideas and plans for their life. This is a wonderful school! The students are academically challenged at Foothill Christian beyond the expectation of many public schools. The behavior standards are excellent! In my opinion, this is one of the best things about Foothill Christian. The Children have a consistent standard of discipline and good conduct from the beginning of school until graduation! There is a level of teacher love and care for the students that is beyond compare. The teachers at Foothill will truly make an investment in your child. The administrative staff is very supportive and friendly. Prospective parents should have no qualms about sending their children in to a safe, loving and academically excellent environment at Foothill Christian School!

My daughter graduated from Foothill Christian in 2003 and it is a terrible school! There is a lack of leadership, the kids are unruly and undidciplined. I almost pulled her out at 7th grade but it would have been unfair to take her out the last year. The parent volunteers hassle new students parents to volunteer and they are always begging for money, even despite charging a substancial tuition. My daughter would have received the same quality education, if not better, from the local public school. There is nothing positive about this school, except they have a nice new building. They do not embrace the christian attitude and they are not selective about who they enroll (even though they pretend to be). I was extremely dissapointed and wasted about 3 years worth of tuition. Save your money!
