I don't have enough space to give the school the praise they deserve!!!they don't just teach and care for our children, they love and teach my husband and I too! I have two kids currently attending St.Marks and we LOVE it!! It's home away from home....every teacher has interaction with my family and they're good people. My daughter is 2 and just started in August, she's been there for about 5 weeks now and she's singing songs she just learned, reciting her abc's in its entirety, counting to 13 on her own, recognizing letters and gaining the confidence to be successful! My son has been attending since he was 3 and he has been learning exceptional work! He's now 4 and can write words on his own, solve beginning math equations and think with complete logic and reason. I love St.Marks, they are our growing and extended family and I look forward to everything they have to share with us!!!

My son transferred from a local private elementary school. We were a bit concerned with him being able to 'catch up' on his math skills. The transition went so much better than we could have imagined. He is doing great. His coursework is challenging and fun and the first week we brought him to school, he didn't want to leave! He has made great friends and always has some lesson he's learned in school to tell us about at home. I highly recommend St. Mark's Lutheran to anyone seeking quality education for their children.

St. Mark's school has been the absolute best choice for my children. My daughter graduated two years ago and my son is currently in 7th grade. The philosophy of the school focuses not only on strong academics, but development of character as well. The faculty are passionate and dedicated. My daughter has excelled in high school as a result of the excellent foundation provided at St. Mark's. St. Mark's provides opportunities in sports, leadership, and drama that my children have participated in with very positive results. The school sets high expectations in all areas for students and provides the support they need to meet or exceed those expectations.

We chose to move our son to St. Marks for 6th Grade due to the school s reputation for solid academics and strong sense of community, and we could not be more pleased with our decision. Middle School can be a tough transition for a new student, but the teachers and students have gone out of their way to make our son feel welcome. We have found the core classes and extra curricular activities to be first rate. Our son has been challenged, but not overwhelmed. The teachers really seem to enjoy what they do, and do an excellent job of providing feedback through materials that are sent home and the school s new website. Having come from the public school system, we have quickly realized the advantages that St. Marks offers in terms of the classroom environment, technology and campus facilities.

this is our 6th year at St. Marks, we have three children and they love the place. it is a great environment. there are strong academics, good school spirit, strong arts and sports programs. the families are very similar middle and upper middle class families striving to help the kids get ahead. the kids seem to inherently challenge each other. We appreciate the spiritual component with Scripture memory, religion classes, and weekly chapel service. It's up to me as a parent to follow this up. The theatre program in amazing. Very good use of technology and media. speaking to many parents of graduates, the kids seem to do very well in high school and college. there is definitely value but it may not be for everyone. we could improve by having more evaluation/feedback, but quality improvement does take place annually.

I can not say enough wonderful things about St. Mark's School (SMS)! My daughter transferred in as a 2nd grader from the Catholic school that suggested my kindergarten-age son be held back a year. I just did not think that that was the best thing for my son so I had him tested at SMS where he was welcomed into kindergarten. Both children have thrived in all ways & I owe it all to SMS. The teachers have demonstrated that they really do care about the kids success. Our Principal, who I have said over and over again, is the smartest woman I've ever met, deserves an honorable degree in Child Psychology. She knows these kids inside/out. She can be trusted to make the best decisions for each & every child no matter of their forming character. The school is truly a nurturing environment. My daughter, now in public high school, has soared to the top of her class thanks in part to the foundation provided at SMS. I feel so blessed that my children attended SMS & we owe a lot of their success to the educational & spiritual foundation they received at St. Mark's School.

Students, staff, and parents are a true family. Have two children attending since preschool and cannot say enough good things. No school is perfect, but this is as close as you will get. Academics are strong and kids love going to school everyday. Wonderful educational environment. Will hate to leave !

St. Mark's is an exceptional school that offers a challenging curriculum in a nurturing environment where kids are allowed to be kids. My twin sons have been students at St. Mark's for almost eight years now. They have enjoyed all aspects of the school and have already talked about missing it when they graduate this year. Not only have they been given a solid academic foundation, but they have also been provided with opportunities to follow their outside interests through programs such as Reading Counts, robotics, chess, Math Counts, writing contests and spelling bees as well as sports such as flag football and basketball. They look forward to attending school, whether it's because of donuts in Goal Setting, the weekly Pod-cast or re-enacting the "Battle of Bunker Hill" with sponges! The dedicated teachers, administrators and staff provide a positive learning environment with plenty of enriching activities and projects. Woven into the fabric of the school is a strong sense of support and community among the families that attend St. Mark's. Take a tour. Meet the people. Like me, you will look back and be happy that you chose such a wonderful place to educate your children!

This school is a true neighborhood treasure. I wish I would have known about it sooner. The thought of switching schools was very daunting at first. However, it was the best move we ever made. We've been there for a little more than one year. My son loves it at St. Mark's. It is intellectually challenging for him in ways which his previous school simply was not. At his former school, there was a strong focus on compliance rather than fostering intelligence and critical thinking skills. The class sizes at St. Mark's are consistent with today's class size research. The curriculum is also about one year ahead of public school standards, which is great for "gifted" children. The principal is an awesome lady and so is the curriculum director. All in all we feel extremely welcomed at St. Mark's and are so happy that we finally found the right school for our family! Love it!!! Love it!!!

We brought our daughter to St. Mark's at the beginning of fifth grade. We were a bit nervous as St. Mark's was much bigger than our previous school. From the minute we walked on campus we felt so welcomed by the principal, staff and families. Within a few weeks we felt as if we had been there since kindergarten. There is so much warmth among the families and staff. The curriculum is advanced, which we believe is a plus. Our daughter entered a Lutheran high school known for being advanced in their curriculum and she is doing very well. We attribute this to the foundation, preparation and fostering that St. Mark's provides for their students. Our only regret is that we didn't enroll our daughter back in kindergarten. After our daughter's first day of high school she insisted that we take her to St. Mark's to visit the principal and her teachers. When we arrived most all of her 8th grade graduating class was on campus to do the same thing. I consider that an amazing testimony in itself. Thank you St. Mark's Lutheran School,

St. Mark s has provided our daughter with an excellent academic education and a great social environment. She is receiving all the benefits and advantages of the school s outstanding staff and administration. Students are encouraged to become involved in the many extracurricular sports and social events that help to make a student well rounded, making St. Mark s more than just a school. Our daughter truly enjoys her classes and the many friends she has at school. St. Mark s is a great place for children to learn and grow.

As a student I didn't like this school at all. I couldn't wait to move schools. The teachers didn't help prepare me for regular schooling or highschool. For example, if you received a low test score you could easily go them for lunch and retake it till you got an A. Also the study guides were a replica of the tests which didn't help me learn how to study on my own. They were very easy academics. Not only was the academics a poor system the school was very expensive. Also there was a major bullying issue that was never addressed. I don't suggest you send your child there if she/ he is not societies' definition of "cool"

This school is amazing. From the front office staff to the janitor. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Yes, the academics are challenging and the students are prepared for their future. I don't think enough is said about how much everyone truly cares about each and every student. While academics are important you cannot put a price on how much love and true dedication all of the staff has. Thank you all!

This school is so amazing ! I graduated from it a year ago and I have to say, it is so amazing ! I learned so much here that I wouldn't learn from public schools. I go to a public high school now & the kids there are so dumb compared to this school, even Thoe they may be strict in their teaching, they are for a fact , THE BEST school in the state, I've been examining other public and private schools and nothing compares to st marks, i love this school. I wish I can attend st marks again and take it less for granted, I recommend this school for any parents that are looking for a school for their child. And I would know about this school because I am a graduate

As a parent of two graduates who started as kindergartners, I can honestly say that St. Mark s has done an exemplary job preparing them for high school with a well-rounded challenging academic curriculum. My oldest attends a highly competitive high school and will graduate at the top of his class. On several occasions he noted that certain academic subjects were easier due to the training he received at St. Mark s. My younger son graduated from St. Mark s this year and will be starting high school with all honor classes. St. Mark s offered a nurturing environment with plenty of opportunities to explore their areas of interest. The dedicated teachers and staff are very involved with the students beyond the classroom providing students with opportunities in a variety of sports and other activities such as Mathcounts, Drama, Podcast, and Band. The school also expands the learning experience with a variety of field trips including visits to Sacramento, El Camino Pines, Catalina, and the East Coast. Through this school we developed a sense of community where my children have made life-long friends, and as parents, we have too. St Mark s was definitely the right choice for my family.

St. Marks Lutheran is a well rounded school that offers programs, clubs and sports that most schools cannot or do not. I am in education in the area and I can vouch that all public K-8 schools and most private schools do not offer the comprehensive educational experience that St. Marks does. Is everything perfect everytime? Of course not but what is awesome is the school listens and addresses issues head on from the leadership in the staff from bottom to top address it. I read some of the negative reviews and I would say yes can there be busy bodies as parents but that is everywhere. I have worked in schools for 2 decades and they are everywhere. I am a parent who works many hours and I am not on the campus involved much and yet when I have brought a concern it has been handled immediately. The fundraising is minmal for what kids receive. The work ethic of the administration is exceptional. It is not uncommon to see Ms. Clarks and Mrs. Evangelista at work by 5:45am and you will still see them supporting everything that is happening at the school which is often 7 days a week morning, noon and night. If only there was more characters remaining to tell you more! Just a great school!

Our son attended St. Mark's school for 9 years and we have only positive things to say about the school, the teachers and the administration. Though his father and I would love to take all the credit for the bright, caring young man our son has become, we cannot do so in good conscience. St. Mark's teachers are a very caring group and continue to nurture their students to become the best they can be - not just as students - but as a bigger part of our community. We feel after his nine years at St. Mark's, our son has a strong foundation to be successful in high school, college, and life in general. We highly recommend this school to all!

My son attended St Marks school from 6th to 8th grade, and our experience was nothing less than spectacular. The teachers are very approachable and genuinely care about each students academic as well as emotional growth.Over the past 3 years St Marks has become an extended family. I am writing this from my heart - when I was diagnosed with cancer, the faculty and community supported my son so well that I did not have to worry about his mental state. Overall, I recommend St Marks school to all parents as it is an experience that must not be missed by young students.

As I am exiting this school, I am hopeful that my comments will aid in any potential parents/students looking to attend St. Marks Lutheran in the future. Both of my children have attended St. Marks since preschool. Initially I was looking for a school where the elementary campus- jr. high were on the same property. This was a priority to me for a few reasons, mostly though, I wanted to give my children that sense of "community" that you achieve from knowing your classmates for several years. It was extremely comforting to me as a child and I wanted to duplicate that security for my children. Of course, the level of education was important, and the athletic department, both of which are exceptional. Not only were my initial goals met, but the bonus that I gained from our attendance at St. Marks was the teacher and staff relationship. This is something I will truly miss as we venture into high school, where that one-on-one communication seems to be absent. If I could sum up St. Marks in one word, it would be "family." St. Marks was most definitely the right choice for our children's education, lives, for the past several years. A decision that you WONT regret!

We re so glad that we made the decision to send our daughter to St. Mark s. She began in preschool and just graduated from the eighth grade. Our experience with the school has been fantastic. The curriculum is rigorous and extensive. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about each student. The small class sizes are definitely a plus. The fact that it s a Christian environment is evident as the students are respectful and are very accepting and kind to each other. With all that being said, what we believe makes St. Mark s stands out from other schools are the extracurricular activities offered to the students. Whether it s sports, MATHCOUNTS, robotics, music, the annual drama production, speech, journalism, art, science, creative writing, or a host of other interests, St. Mark s encourages their students to find an interest and become involved. Our daughter has evolved into an intelligent, confident leader who is most assuredly prepared for the rigors of high school. St. Mark s has helped our daughter believe that she can do anything she sets her mind to do. We thank St. Mark s for an enriching elementary school education.

I have just graduated from St. Mark's, finishing off my 10th year here. It was an amazing experience to have such wonderful teachers who genuinly care about you and will anything in their power to help you achieve your goals. I have made amazing friends here and learned so much from my teachers. It is a great school and anyone who is considering attending should. I have become closer to God through this school and I know that I can trust in the Lord in any situation. I believe this school is a great place to grow up in and they make you feel like one, big family. Seminars, bullying sessions and lessons successfuly prevent people from tearing each other down through bullying. Barbara Clark is an amazing principal and teacher who has done an amazing job making this school a safe, caring, and tolerant evironment for any and every person on campus.

I speak with pride when I talk about this school. St. Mark's Lutheran is the kind of school that makes you want to be the best person you can be. Whether you've been attending this school for 9 years or 3 years, you learn about more than just academics. You learn to appreciate the small things just as much as the bigger ones. From rough housing football to the competitive math team, St. Mark's has a variety of school programs. We even get down and dirty during our 8th grade reenactment of the Battle of Bunker Hill. There are also the B I G productions we put on each year with the drama department, and there are also the smaller one's like the christmas programs where each grade performs. St. Mark's is a unique school and you would be immensely blessed to attend it.

St. Mark's has been a wonderful nine years for me. It provides students with excellent opportunities to learn, to create and to make new friends. Not only has this school given me a great deal of educational knowledge and prepared me for my next school, it also taught me much about character and wise decision-making. The religion program helped me build a stronger relationship with God. At St. Mark's, a student can be involved with school life in many ways: joining a sports team, helping with the drama production or taking part in band are just some of the activities the school has to offer. The students and the staff here are extremely friendly and welcoming, and I had no trouble making friends. I believe that St. Mark's is one of the best schools out there and definitely a great experience.

Overall St. Mark's is an excellent school. The teacher's are involved and the principal, Ms. Barbara Clark is exceptional. Ms. Clark is present and interested in what parent's have to say and is quick to resolve issues in a fairly with huge doses of common sense. The only issue I have is with the math program. The math program seems to be somewhat accelerated and can leave your child struggling. I think the students would be better served in receiving a less accelerated program that would truly provide them with a solid mathematics foundation. That being said, the variety of classes and class room experiences is stellar . My only other complaint would be the constant fund raising. I know it costs a lot of money to run a private school of this caliber, but the minority of middle class parents struggle with meeting the financial obligations imposed.

St. Mark's was the best choice that I ever made for my two daughters and their education. I have one that just finished from preschool thru 8th grade and another that will start 7th grade next year. The education they both have received has by far been second to none. They both have been above average students and excelled in this enviroment. They learned to be organized, disciplined in their studies and I know this was the best stepping stone for them to enter into the high school and those college years. I highly recommend this school and you will not be disappointed!

St. Mark's is an excellent school. St. Mark's school provide teachers that are very involved, have great curriculum, and alot of extra curricular activities for kids. This is one school that I can say provided my kids tools on how to manage their time; how to be discipline in academic and how to be discipline in the public arena. The school principal is always readily available. Any time you would want to speak to the principal, all you need is to step out of your car every morning and talk to the principal standing by the parking lot to address any issues. Can you believe this? I have 2 kids that graduated from St. Mark's 2 years apart and both kids received personal letters from the school pricipal addressing theirs strengths and weaknesses, as well a words of encoragement for their future. Continue the good works at St. Mark's. Thanks you for the years of good guidance to my kids.

Being at a school so exceptionally so advanced has been one of my greatest blessings. Everything from the teachers to the extracurricular and academic programs to the principal and staff members shows complete excellence. The students gain a once and a lifetime chance participating in extra curricular activities such as an high-school level drama department, weekly student run podcast news program, a day reserved for learning and experiencing hands-on about science, a 10-day East Coast learning adventure for 8th graders, and much more! The school has excelled both my parent's and my expectations academically seeing to the students learn one grade level higher than their intended grade, preparing them for high school when they reach eighth grade. I've been grateful to go to a extremely advanced school such as this.

If your child isn't in enrolled at St. Mark's, her or she is truly missing out on a unique educational experience. St. Mark's not only offers a top notch curriculum but is also jam packed with extra curricular activities such as an incredible drama department, weekly student run newscast program, science day, outstanding sports coaches, and a 10-day East Coast learning experience for 8th graders, just to name a few. St. Mark's teachers/and staff truly care about each child's education and encourages them to step out of their comfort zone to try new things. Weekly Chapel service is performed by teachers and students enriching your child's knowledge about God, and thru him all things are possible. St. Mark's is not just a school for your child, but an extension of your family.

Having spent the first ten years of my educational career at St. Mark s, I ve realized how great of an experience it was. Great teachers mixed with an amazing curriculum left me well ahead in my first years of high school, in books I had already read to the algebra equations I d already been taught. Because of its exceptional academic standards St. Mark s has now become a Blue Ribbon and WASC accredited school. In addition to my many academic advantages, St. Mark s has also provided me the opportunity to make many irreplaceable relationships with most of my classmates and, I even feel that in some cases, with some of the parents. Some of my greatest childhood memories come from class trips to places such as Catalina and the East Coast. Do not hesitate in sending your children here because I am certain you won t regret it.

St. Mark's is an all-around great school: offering amazing academics, resources and extracurriculars, and most of all a strong and supportive community. I know the school as both a student and a member of the staff--I attended grades 2 through 8 and now work part-time as a TA and day care attendant. Not only does the school foster intellectual growth and academic preparedness through its top-notch curriculum and teaching staff, they also instill values of cooperation, kindness and hardwork in every student (and parent) who attends. Academically, St. Mark's gives every student mastery of the basic skills they will need in high school and college, and goes beyond the basics to emphasize analytical thinking, goal-setting and problem-solving. An excellent sports program, technological resources, and a thriving arts and theatre department are just some of the ways in which all students can nurture their own interests and become involved. St. Mark's is incredibly community-oriented, and respect and fairness are upheld throughout the school. My years spent at St. Mark's have been invaluable to me, in both my academic endeavors and in my personal growth.

St. Marks is unmatched in its quality of curriculum, standards, teachers, congeniality, and technology. It is an excellent learning environment that not only over prepares you for high school but teaches your child about good Christian values. The friends your child makes will be long lasting and good relationships at St. Marks. I was very fortunate to be able to go there from 6th-8th but would have given anything to start their in kindergarten.

I attended St. Mark's, and am incredibly grateful for the experience. The involved faculty, rigorous academics, and updated facilities all contributed to my later academic success. Because of the advanced curricula at St. Mark's, I had already read the books for my introductory high school honors English course and mastered the concepts covered in my high school geometry course (I attended a nationally and state recognized high school). Not only does St. Mark's encourage intellectual curiosity, it also fosters strong organizational skills necessary for continued success. Also, as for the accusations of bullying and "drama," no school is immune to the difficult social situations most preteens encounter. Certainly my "public school" friends had their fair share of stories. But, when approached and informed of any bullying or "drama" issues, the faculty and staff do all they can to ensure a bully-free, safe and fair environment. I made some of my best friends at St. Mark's, and we still keep in contact several years, and several schools, later. For a well-rounded, rigorous education and a safe and fair environment, St. Mark's is an ideal option.

Overall, St. Mark's enviroment is quite snobby and cold. They give special treatment to those who donate large amounts of money and/or are overlly involved in school life(gossiping). There is a disdain for public school and those who go to public schools that is clearly emphasized upon through teachers, children, and parents. The education is mediocre. The Engligh program is rather profficient, but other than that most core subkects are weak. I took my child out and put them in Mesa Robles and they had much better experience there and was more prepared for high school. While some children were nice, others were rather rude. It is clear that there is a problen with bullying and cliques, my daughter afterall experienced it first hand in all her years. Girls and boys both make it clear that they are ugly or unwanted to other kids. Also, a huge problem lies within the junior high dating. Girls will do everything to make girls feel poorly about themselves over guys. In my opinion, there is too much drama. My child had a very negative experience with her years at St. Mark's

i hated st marks. i graduated a few years ago and i never looked back. they have a major bullying issue at st marks, particularly among the junior high. some of the teachers i learned alot from, but oters not so much. Among the staff their are a few good teachers and a lot of bad ones. i went to high school after i graduated and i soon realized that i was in no way prepared for it and had to learn to study. i got straigh A's at st marks and my freshman year was getting straight B's. All of my new friends were prepared because they didnt go to St. Marks.

I and my family love ST. Mark's, and our boys still now there! I agree with some parents or students that the school's English class is very strong and the science is kind of weak to compare with other public schools in the same area. But being a parent you have to know what you're looking for the most! My family want our kids have a greater environment with better hardware like the classrooms and the school facilities, and even good classmates and parents around them... The only unhappy experience we had that it was with a first-grade teacher who is racist and very. We were unlucky that both boys went to her class. And other parents felt the same way who i talked to. She has two faces that one to Caucasian parents and students, and the other to the none-Caucasian people. Other teachers are great. We love ST. Mark's!

Hands down the best school in the area! The curriculum is advanced, arts, sports, Christian values and teachers that trully like to teach. The property is constantly upgraded. The admistration is always looking for innovative teaching methods as well as available technology for classrooms. Finally the principal is very responsive to any parent concerns or issues. Parent involvement is significant at St Marks. Students here will gain a very good foundation for HS as they do not teach to the test. If I had to improve anything at this school it would be the pre-school program, I feel it still needs to be brought up to the older grades standards. functions and events are planned under the direction of volunteer parent comittes.

If I was a parent I'd probably send my kids to St. Marks till 4th grade, then pull them out for public school. St. Mark's was far to easy of a school, many of my friends (graduates) complained all through their freshmen year about struggling with the homework. Admittedly, this school is the best in this district, unless your kid's get into the GATE program at a public school. I missed my 8th grade year, but I had a horrible time trying to catch up in my classes in middle school. Their English program is pretty strong, math is strong in some years weak in others, science was very weak, and history average. Spanish was weak. Oh, and by the way, if your kid is 'advanced' they'll most likely kick back. The school had some major bullying problems in upper years.

I have a child who will be entering the 4th grade this fall. I am extremely pleased with St. Mark's. There is a very strong family atmosphere within the school. Academically it is a tough school, but definitely prepares you for the next level. My son enjoys St. Mark's and has always liked every teacher he has had. The campus is always neat and they seem to be always looking for ways to improve the school.

This is one of the most well rounded schools you will find in the area. It offers a very pretty campus with well-maintained, modern classrooms and strong family values often missing from area public schools. Look forward to a fun atmosphere with many extra-curricular activities and field trip. Arts, physical education, and foreign language all get good representation. The academics are strong. Expect math and reading to be six months to a full year ahead of the public schools. There is no special gifted (i.e. gate) program, as the school takes philosophical approach to giving extra attention to students falling below par instead. This is not a problem for advanced students as there are many after school academies in Hacienda Heights for advanced studies. St. Marks has successfully implemented Scholastic Reading Counts! for encouraging students to read and the results have been very impressive. Parents of St. Marks can find comfort that the students will be prepared to go to their high school of choice upon graduation.

This is the right school for you if academics is your priority. They do not prescribe to a child-centered approach. The teachers are all very nice and seem to care about the kids. The school is always very clean and appears to be safe. There is an over emphasis on homework which can be a problem. The after school program could use some improvement. The children just play outside or watch a video--absolutely no structure.

I feel quite fortunate to have my two children attending St. Mark's. Acedemically, it is the best school in the area! Socially, they are thriving. The kids are happy, the parents are happy. I know my children are getting the best education available in this area and that is such a comfort. We feel blessed.

St. Mark's has won a nation Blue Ribbon school award. The academic programs are excellent and the children are given a wide variety of classes. Each student receives instruction in the basics (math, reading, writing) as well as history, geography, social studies, religion, computers, art, and music. The principal is most excellent with reasonable and rational decision making. The level of parental involvement is fairly high. The amount of homework given the upper grades is fairly high as well. Kids are required to do work over summer vacation as well. Cons: private school, constantly hitting you up for fundraising dollars.
