I go to this school and literately, if you ask me, this school gives too many punishments for reason that don't make sense. if there is a problem going on campus, they make sure to take care of it fast. the principal is great, and the teachers are nice. I think Plaza Vista is a school that challenges you if your not a genius, and trust me, your kid will be happy that he went to this school when he/she is in High School. This school prepares you every day for High School. You have homework pretty much every day. Overall, if your child likes a small school where you get a good education, this is the school for you. But make sure not to do anything wrong, cause punishments and detentions come often for kids that don't listen, or horse around.

We like Plaza Vista because of the year-round schedules and that the school goes from kindg - 8th grade!

My daughter and I love this school. She's just starting second grade and has had great teachers for all 3 years ... and all the other teachers are great as well. She is above her grade level but is challenged and doesn't get bored. Especially in second grade, I believe they'll use different curriculum for different levels to meet their needs. I'm very happy here and wouldn't think about leaving until she's ready to go to high school. I hope people will see that the review with one star is a very isolated case because it really is a great school where every staff is very dedicated to the well beings of the students.

Plaza Vista is a great school. The teachers and parents are dedicated to the kids and school. I won't send my daughter to the other APAAS schools although she is qualified for the gifted students program. We are happy with the 'clustered program' that Plaza Vista provides.

My daughter attended Plaza Vista for first grade. It was terrible for her. She had already mastered almost all of the material they presented. They failed to differentiate the curriculum. They refused to any acceleration. Plaza Vista offers no GATE services before 4th grade. My daughter was miserable and bored silly. I took her to an educational psychologist who strongly recommended acceleration. Plaza Vista still refused. We took her to another school which offered acceleration right away. Since leaving Plaza Vista, my daughter is challenged, learning, and happy again.

Plaza Vista's overall program has been highly accelerated for my kids who were all identified for GATE during their year in third grade (something we had recognized early on), so it was odd to read the previous review. I'm suspisious that anyone would give it a one star consdiering all it's success. What's been nice is the work my child gets as a gifted student is significantly different and accelerated. My oldest went into MS Algebra in 6th grade. I have been very impressed with the types of learning taking place & with state test scores as they've been higher then some of the schools Irvine calls APAAS and consistently in the top 10 of all schools in the county. My oldest is very successful in her AP classes in high school thanks to P.V. I would encourage parents to put Plaza Vista #1 on their list.

As a student who moved around the country I never had a school that had a Principal that cared and showed interest in the kids, as parent I constantly tell people how proud and lucky my kids are to go to a school where the teachers and principal have an interest in all our kids and their education.

I've been at Plaza Vista for 8 years and I just love how each teacher approaches the learning process. Each teacher's unique style has the whole class either laughing or in great interest. The Principal is always open for questions and has provided a great deal of support throughout my time at this school!

The staff at this school is fantastic! Principal shows sincere interest in each child at this school. My daughter started her first year here in 1st grade and now she will be going into 4th! Both my husband and I wouldn't have her in any other school!!! The PTA is awesome at this school and the parent involvement is great.
