St. Francis High School is a school with not only a great education program, but also a program that helps to form character. The school embodied the characteristics of brotherhood, acceptance, service, and integrity. I also felt adequately prepared for college life and academics. My decision to attend St. Francis High School was the best decision I ever made.

This school accepts boys and helps to turn them into exceptional young men. The kids make friends for life, and I've noticed an incredibly strong Alumni Association.

St. Francis High school has provided not only a safe and nurturing environment for my 2 sons for the last 4 years but also an environment where my sons have flourished intellectually and spiritually.

My son currently attends St. Francis and I cannot stress how wonderful the school is. I love that it is small and intimate, allowing the boys to explore (and excel) every interest. My son entered high school with a strong moral character and now possesses an even stronger, more mature self, with empathy, kindness and humiliation. It isn't just about the strong academics at St. Francis, but truly the whole child. And, the school allows and welcomes parental involvement. The best kept secret in the Los Angeles area!!

I am very proud to say that both of my sons are graduates for St. Francis High School. During my first parent meeting, we were told that when my son graduated from SFHS, we would be a fine young man. That is true for all of the SFHS greaduates. The school provides a wonderful foundation with caring and attentive teachers and administrators, who are always available to the students and parents. My sons are men of character and I am very proud of them - both attending college in prestigious universities. We are all thankful for the wonderful education and supportive environment that SFHS provided to us all.

St. Francis High School offers a solid college-prep education and a fabulous Franciscan based community life for its students. Many of the teachers and some administrators are graduates of the school, which speaks volumes about the valued education and experience that they received. My son graduated from SF last year and thoroughly enjoyed the many opportunities that the school offers. St. Francis prepares young boys to be educated, thoughtful, caring and adventure seeking men who go out into the world to make a difference! Academics, sports, extra-curricular activities and spiritual life are well-balanced and all important at SF. Each student is encouraged to challenge himself with new experiences via service to others, school club activities and retreats. The community at St. Francis is genuinely special and unique for the students, parents and families as a whole. Don't overlook St. Francis!

St. Francis High School is a Catholic, college preparatory school for boys in grades 9-12. Since its founding by the Capuchin Franciscan Friars in 1946, it has been committed to enriching the mind and heart, strengthening respect through service and humility, creating a family environment, and envisioning men of hope and peace. It offers a challenging curriculum and many opportunities for extracurricular involvement. St. Francis is fully accredited by WASC and the WCEA.

I am a very proud and grateful graduate of St. Francis High School. The school prepared me extremely well for the academic rigors of a top tier university and enhanced my athletic abilities so that I could compete at the collegiate level. More importantly, St. Francis fostered my spiritual formation and provided an environment that allowed me to develop a personal relationship with the Lord. I graduated as a man of character and integrity - characteristics that have sustained me ever since. I would highly recommend this high school to any young man who dreams of being extraordinary.

As a parent of a St. Francis High School graduate, I can honestly say you will not regret sending your son to this school. It is an environment that allows all the boys to shine and excel in their studies, as well as whatever school activity they choose to participate in. The teachers are great. They are kind, dedicated, and caring, but firm in what they expect from their students. Your son will mature into a strong, confident, and well mannered man ready to take on the world. Students are prepared for college and all the challenges that the college life will present to them. I am very proud of my son and who he has become. I will always be grateful to St. Francis High School for helping him on his journey.

A friend whose sons attended St. Francis once told me, "Give them your boys; they'll give you back men." I did just that. All three of my sons attend St. Francis and it has been the best money I've ever spent. I believe they're getting a quality education but more importantly, St. Francis focuses on the bigger picture, the whole child.

St. Francis High School provided an excellent environment in which I could grow into the individual I am today. Through the religious education provided by the Capuchin Franciscan Order, I developed a comprehensive moral system founded upon the Franciscan principles of acceptance, humility, brotherhood, and compassion. Through academically challenging myself, I was able to develop the critical thinking skills necessary to my current college education. Inspirational teachers in the biology department showed me how incredible learning can be and instilled a passion and enthusiasm for learning that I still possess today. I'm very thankful for the opportunities I had at St. Francis High School, and I am very proud to stand amongst so many incredible alumni.

Why are there no reviews of St. Francis for the past 2-3 years? I'd love to hear from current students and parents.

As a parent of a former student, and current college sophomore, I judge a school academically by how well they prepare our children for college. St. Francis provided an excellent scholastic environment, with supportive teachers and peers. I can report that my son is performing exceptionally in college. He was prepared for the rigors of studies as well as the expected distractions.

Everything is good. There are some teachers that aren't so great, but there are others who make up for that. A lot of the teachers here are absolutely amazing and all of the extracurricular activities are great.

I am a graduate of St. Francis, class of 2005, and want to publicly express how great of a school this is. Make no hesitation in sending your son here. He will be in great hands. You will be helping your son a great deal in all areas of his life that will be necessary to succeed in life. Mentally, physically and spiritually. The education is surely college-level, but more importantly are the values of life they will learn. I have many wonderful memories from my days there, and continue to live my life as a Golden Knight, in other words a Christian man. If there will be a sacrifice to send your son here, whether it be financial or just distance, it is well worth it. Trust me.

To be honest I was hestitant to go to SFHS but I can surely say this is by far one if the best high schools in L.A.. Our achademics, extracuricular, and campus can rival several small colleges. The teachers are also really lickable, thier helpfull and I can surely say my classmates and I have developed good reltaionships with almost all of them. Another grate thing is the size of the school, in every class there is about 170 guys, its a realy intimate setting and you get to know everyone at your school. like I said before the teachers and the students have great relationshis and I think the size of the school is one of the reasons why were able to interact with the teachers and administration the way we are. Ina nut shell, if your son gets accepted at SFHS consider yourself lucky and he should defenitly go.

St. Francis High School has provided my sons an excellent education and life experience that I do not believe they would have received at any other school. The dedication of the Friars and Staff is seen on a daily basis. The school has been able to challenge students that are high achievers, and on the other hand provide encouragement and inspiration for those that have to work harder for their grades.

I was angry when the headmaster suggested St. Francis as a good choice for my son. I wanted better for him. It turned out to be the best choice for him.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
