With 3 kids going through this school from age of 11, 8 & 5, I have seen the greater effort of teachers and principle trying to bring the test scores and learning curve up. They even creatively perform a play to entertain the kids how to handle incoming CST test. It is great to see other parents get involved their kids education instead just send their kids expect the teachers to do everything. La Pluma test score does average out with some kids with disadvantage, and I except their test score continue to improve.
La Pluma has excellent teachers, a caring principal and challenging academic programs. They also have a first grade teacher on staff who is one of LA County's Teacher's of the Year. Not every school can say that!
standards are low compared to other elementary schools... the teachers dont work as hard as they used to since the arts program came out....
I just reenrolled my son back into this school for their amazing arts programs!!! La Pluma has the only arts programs in the district for elementary school students of all ages. The classes change a bit from session to session but; art, piano, musical theater, violin, dance, band, and choir. These classes are open to students from other schools in the district and community. My son attended this school two years ago and then I sent him to a school near the country club thinking, if the scores were better the school would be. In short, La Pluma has a lot to offer and 800 APIs
ever since i went to this school its been great our principle is great
Great parents make this a great school. La Pluma gets better year after year!
La Pluma has been our school since 1999 when my nieces started in Kindergarten and now my daughter is in 1st grade and in September my baby will start Kindergarten. Thumps Up to the teachers and Mrs.Green.
I have nothing but great comments for this school and the teachers and staff are great. I am glad my child attends this school.
