I just graduated from this school this month and I have to say I loved every second of it. This school is an AVID National Demonstration school, which I was part of the fabulous program. This school has a great sports program and there are tons of clubs and organizations you can join. This school has only been open for a few years and it is the prettiest of all High School. I pride myself in saying the teachers are amazing here, they truly want you to succeed and they help you with whatever they can. The counselors like Ms. Geason, are very caring and supportive they help you in every shape and form. I moved here from a different High School my Sophomore year and I am thankful I got to go to such a great school like LHS. This school has the highest test schools of all high schools and we pride ourselfs in being a BULLY FREE ZONE. "See something say something!"

i am a sophmore at lakeside high and ive never seen a school with so much pride and spirit. i have had teachers who've pushed me to do better then i thought i could. i recommend joining ASB so you could experience lakeside like i have and have the best teacher in the world! mrs.greene! :) -schmoe

My experience at Lakeside High School was the best time of my whole life i met new friends and i was the odd one in the school cause i was known as the kid that never talked or went to any school events that were going on...

My two children go to this school and are heavily involved in band/color guard. This school has an excellent learning enviornment with enthusiastic teachers! I also was suprised with the new forensic class that was started and how well it is being taught! If your children are well involved in the different programs offered then this school is right for you, but if not involved your child will be losing out on a great opportunity! This school has a high level of pride, since it is a new school with a beautiful view of the lake/mountains (I wish I had that type of view from my high school!) The principal is also well involved (bumped into him at LEUSD board meetings and helped with color guard transportation!) Go Lancers!

I have been a student here from the very beginning. I have seen this school grow with spirit and intelligence. Not many people know how amazing this campus is. We are very lucky compared with the other high schools in the district! the campus is gorgeous and everything is up to date

Im a current freshman and so far i got to say its awsome! the teachers and staff are really kool and awsome...they're all vey friendly...but at times they are mean but only towards the students who are aksin for it...but other than that..i got to say just one more thing,' theres no place like Lakeside'

I have watched this school since it opened in 2005. I am impressed with the leadership of the principal and teachers to create a learning institution that is centered on students. The principal takes harsh criticism that is unfounded due to her focus on doing what's right for kids. Keep up the good work Lakeside!

We have amazing teachers who care about the individual success of each of their students. We have some flaws as a school but we continue to grow as time progresses. We continue to also create new traditions, rather than merely imitating the surrounding high schools. We embrace diversity as our high school has a high level of different race and backgrounds.

We are a new school -but are improving as we grow and things are all falling in place-as with all new schools you have to get the wrinkles out and that comes with time -but over all everyone seems to try and most are happy there is band color guard lots of sports and swimming just to name a few extracurricular activiies and we have parent involvement in several areas

New school with growing pains but great facilities, pool, stadium, gyms and theater. Shares county library on campus. Some great teachers in AP, Arts and photography, theater tech; some inexperienced, young and maturity challenged teachers that result in a high teacher turnover rate and bad experiences for their students. Great school for your child if you get involved

My daughter is a sophomore at Lakeside, she's doing great. There are a lot of extracurricular activities for the kids. The teachers are wonderful, very nice and they're always there if you need to ask any questions.

This school is brand new and it a great oppurtunity for your child to come here. The secury here is high and the extracurricular activites are great ... may i reccomend our dance team? its great. its fun to get involed here. its the best!

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
