I agree with the writer of Aug 10, 11. I too have been trying to find out how the academy compares to other schools in the area and what standardized testing is taken, and the results of that testing. I have had no success, no answers. Overall, there are many positive aspects of the school. Safety for one, as a parent I feel the teachers are very prepared. My son loves his school which is a real plus. I wish there was formal tutoring available as part of the after school program. Overall above average...... I think........ but would love to see it in writing. Where are the standardized testing scores?

My child has been attending LLA since kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. I have not been able to obtain adequate answers as to the type of standardized testing students take and how the school compares to some of the best performing public/private schools in the local area. LLA does not do a great job in alleviating this concern amongst parents who raise it. This information is not readily available. Given the high tuition, this is a sacrifice for many. Greater availability/awareness of LLA academic indicators as compared to better performing pubiic and private school would help. Also, lunch and numerous other school incidentals are overpriced. I do like the spiritual aspects of the curriculum, but I need more openness about the different student/school performance indicators across grades given class sizes avarage 28-33 students per class.

This is really an excellent school. Students accelerate quickly and honors classes move at a faster pace than in public schools. A majority of high school students all participate in some kind of leadership/service extra curricular (class office, music leader, sports). High school has a range of opportunities: Honors programs in math, english, and science. College courses, variety of clubs (Glee, humanitarian, poetry, etc.) Renowned music programs: Symphonic band and choir tours cross-country and internationally. Past tours include Boston, New York, Germany, New Zealand. This summer the band is touring Paris, France. 99.9% of students graduate and go into four-year college. Students develop close relationships with their class and teachers. The environment is family like. Many kids stay after school to talk/pray with teachers and/or group study sessions. Teachers pay great individual attention to students. High school students also take trips to Bible Camp, Student Association Picnic, Leadership Camp, Beach Vespers, seniors go on Havasu Trip. Many high school students have GPA average of 3.5-3.9 while the top have 4.3. Beautiful new campus.

Loma LInda Academy is a great school, the teachers there are great people and they all love the children. I went to Loma LInda for all of my years in school and loved it. My two children love it there and I love it too, because there are so many opportunities for the parents to get involved.
