LLA is a great school i have gone to tht school since 2006 and still going there now. It ia a great honor to go there, being a christian school and all. I love LLA. It is the greatest thing tht has happened in my life. I love it! GO ROADRUNNERS!!
LLA is the top private school in the area. The standardized test scores are much higher than the local public schools, and its relatively small size contributes to an excellent learning environment where students, parents and teachers get to know each other well. For students at LLA, college is just the logical "next step," so the school not only prepares students for college but instills in them the motivation to advance their education beyond high school. The close proximity to Loma Linda University also lends resources that are not available to other schools.

We sent our older children to Loma Linda Academy since 1999. The school leadership at that time is much better than it is now. The new administration at the high school lacks presence, both principal and the vice principal. Many of the excellent teachers they once had have left, retired or passed away from an illness. The quality of the teachers has declined over the years. LLA is also hiring part time faculty as well. Your child can still get a decent education there, but they only offer honors classes and not AP Courses. As a parent you will only be heard if you are Dr. or Dr. otherwise they lend you a patronizing ear. Several years ago I would say LLA was the best around. Now it's just OK. You can get an education, have a safe environment ,get ready for college, go to classes in a new building, and pay high tuition, but you may not necessarily get "the best" education like the school offered years ago. The tutition you pay goes to a lot of overhead.

I agree with the writer of Aug 10, 11. I too have been trying to find out how the academy compares to other schools in the area and what standardized testing is taken, and the results of that testing. I have had no success, no answers. Overall, there are many positive aspects of the school. Safety for one, as a parent I feel the teachers are very prepared. My son loves his school which is a real plus. I wish there was formal tutoring available as part of the after school program. Overall above average...... I think........ but would love to see it in writing. Where are the standardized testing scores?

My child has been attending LLA since kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. I have not been able to obtain adequate answers as to the type of standardized testing students take and how the school compares to some of the best performing public/private schools in the local area. LLA does not do a great job in alleviating this concern amongst parents who raise it. This information is not readily available. Given the high tuition, this is a sacrifice for many. Greater availability/awareness of LLA academic indicators as compared to better performing pubiic and private school would help. Also, lunch and numerous other school incidentals are overpriced. I do like the spiritual aspects of the curriculum, but I need more openness about the different student/school performance indicators across grades given class sizes avarage 28-33 students per class.

This is really an excellent school. Students accelerate quickly and honors classes move at a faster pace than in public schools. A majority of high school students all participate in some kind of leadership/service extra curricular (class office, music leader, sports). High school has a range of opportunities: Honors programs in math, english, and science. College courses, variety of clubs (Glee, humanitarian, poetry, etc.) Renowned music programs: Symphonic band and choir tours cross-country and internationally. Past tours include Boston, New York, Germany, New Zealand. This summer the band is touring Paris, France. 99.9% of students graduate and go into four-year college. Students develop close relationships with their class and teachers. The environment is family like. Many kids stay after school to talk/pray with teachers and/or group study sessions. Teachers pay great individual attention to students. High school students also take trips to Bible Camp, Student Association Picnic, Leadership Camp, Beach Vespers, seniors go on Havasu Trip. Many high school students have GPA average of 3.5-3.9 while the top have 4.3. Beautiful new campus.

Loma Linda Academy is the best school n the area. My 2 children are attending there, and the school has a great structure. Loma Linda Academy has excellent teachers, materials, library, art classes, music teachers, sports, good values, and everything.

Loma LInda Academy is a great school, the teachers there are great people and they all love the children. I went to Loma LInda for all of my years in school and loved it. My two children love it there and I love it too, because there are so many opportunities for the parents to get involved.

I agree that LLA is a wonderful school. Although tuition is costly, the education is well worth it and every alumni i've know since 6th grade (now in sr c/o 09) has said that they are ahead in most of their college classes. Yes, most teachers demand alot from their students, but in the end, it is all worth it. Along with great education, there are no worries of violence occuring because there is 0 tolerance for it. Also, great events are planned bythe ASB officers, whom are great and very efficient. Some commodities, however, are a little overpriced, such as lunch from the cafeteria, but there is always the option of going off campus for lunch. The LLA Athletics department is exceptional, as well as the Music departments. The Roadrunners have a great sports reputation and the music department is nearly world-renowned under the care of one of the greatest music

The extracurricular activities are limited at Loma Linda Academy. Many of the surrounding public schools have more enrichment opportunities.

I went to LLA for my last two years of high school, and the time I spent there was invaluable to me. Thanks to the great training I received there, I was able to get into UCLA! Best of all, LLA equipped me with a real sense of purpose and values! There are spiritual battles to be fought out there in the 'real world,' and thanks to LLA, I have the solid background and the spiritual strength to face the battles! I will always be grateful for the top-of-the-line scholastic training I received and the solid-Rock evangelical Christian principles that were instilled in me during my years at LLA!

I am completely satisfied with this school

They provide the good quality programs for the students. There are not many programs for the elementary students. Parents are very much involved in school activities.

Great school. But if you are busy, it is not good idea to send your kids to this school. Some parents are heavily involved in school activites. That makes your kids feel left out.
