My son was accepted into Lomita Magnet school in 1st grade. He's now in 5th grade and he loves going to Lomita. We live in Downtown Los Angeles and have an elementary school right across the street from us. We gave my son the choice of going to Lomita and getting up at 5:50am so he can make the bus by 6:30am to get to school on time or being able to sleep longer and going to the school across the street. He chose Lomita so that he could get a better education! We are pleased with the education that he get from Lomita! Thanks to Everyone who is involved with the children who attend Lomita.

Lomita Magnet is the BEST KEPT SECRET. Mrs. Du-Song is a fabulous (new) Principal who means what she says and says what she means. She is educated, compassionate, personable and aware of what it takes to gets the job done! Lomita Magnet is a well respected school by staff, students and parents. They have a strong PTA who implements wonderful fund raisers along with educational and extracurricular projects to develop the whole child; they are dedicated to the staff and students. MUCH SUCCESS TO YOU ALWAYS LOMITA MAGNET~

My three children had a very good educational experience at Lomita Magnet. I saw excellent teachers, a supportive administration, and a uniform discipline policy designed to teach children self-control. Parental involvement was requested and valued. When our children were in middle school we moved to the Midwest, to a town where the schools were rated as excellent. None of our kids had any trouble at all keeping up and were ahead in many areas. They've all gone on to graduate from college, two have gone on to grad school, and the third found a job in her field immediately out of college. Lomita Magnet provided both a good education and a wealth of positive interaction with all sorts of people and ideas.

The principaI, Ms. Du is top notch and dedicated to the children and parents. The staff and teachers are responsive and are great as well. However, it is the principal's caring spirit and positive attitude that improved the school academically and socially. I highly recommend Lomita Magnet. Ms. Du and Lomita Staff, Keep up the GOOD WORK!

Lomita Magnet is an excellent school. My oldest son went here and is now an 8th grader at Dodson Magnet and he is most grateful to the teachers he's had at Lomita for preparing him to face the accelerated academic program in middle school. He's doing excellent at Dodson Magnet and he has Lomita Magnet to thankful for. My youngest son now attends Lomita and is doing very well also. I can't say enough about the excellent staff at Lomita, from the former Principal Mrs. Branscomb (retired in 2008) to the new Principal Ms. Du, to the Assistant Principals, administrative staff, PTA, and especially the teachers. Ms. Du, the new Principal in her 2nd year at Lomita is very active and definitely leads by example. As parents, we appreciate the phone call recordings of updates at school and reminders. Keep up the great work Lomita Magnet!

the school itself is awesome. so far i am very pleased with the new principle. i had an issue i had to address recently and she was very supportive. one of my only complaints is the pta. the woman are not the most friendly. there are only a few that make you feel welcomed into the fold. the rest seem like they are in a high school clique.

Lomita Math/Science Magnet is a wonderful school. I put my first child through it and had great success that I am putting my second child in too. This school is very fast paced as it is a Magnet school and not an average elementary school. The teachers and staff are top notch, outstanding, and very caring. I am proud to have my children go to Lomita Magnet and you should too. It is refreshing to see the dedication of the Principal Mrs. Branscomb, and Mr. Beale at every event answering questions and making the parents feel well informed. They even have a special program for Hispanics to acclimate them into the school and welcome the diversity.
