The middle school principal is a money grubber. The meanest, most unprofessional administrator anywhere! The classes are stuffed with at least 25 students in each, and the overall attitude is most unpleasant. Stay far, far, away!
After first semester at college, my daughter and her friends (American U, Berkeley, Bowdoin, Columbia, Loyola Marymount, Occidental, U of Pennsylvania, U of Minnesota, UCLA, Vassar, Wesleyan, Whitman) are doing well academically, personally, and socially, able to adjust and thrive because of IMAC/IHHS education.
Please disregard the comment I made below. At a moment of anger from a bad test grade, and the ability of having a "shield" of the internet, I thought it was ok. Imac is a great school. There are flaws, like any other school, but for the most part it is great. The community is great there, and just like any other middle school, there is drama, which also made me post what I said below. The academics are amazing and even the teachers I don't favor are still great teachers. The whole school is like a family, and we all are open and caring to one another. The teachers are so nice and always there when you need to talk to them.
The school is amazing and as soon as became part of the IHHS community I felt welcomed. The teachers are great and electives are fun.
The academics are very rigorous, but the staff and teachers are very upbeat, positive and nuturing. There is a great sense of spirit and pride here. My daughter is very happy.
i'd like to disagree with the prior comment upon graduation, these women learn to be strong and despite being students at all girl school for four years, they are very aware of how different life is outside IH. as an alum, most of my IH friends, are considered my sisters, and we are all looking forward to changing the world in whatever way we could. the small sizes, as well as the supportive atmosphere created an ideal setting for myself and for others. comparing myself to most college students now, i feel that i am well prepared to dominate my college career. so far, at a UC, I have continued success. i can thank the hard work ethics and competitive nature that i adopted as a student at IH.
Immaculate heart is a bad school. There's alot of racism and most teachers only favor the 'rich' and give out useless homework. They should prepare us better for college but they only think they are. Dont come here
Character building with rigorous academics and compassion. The girls are encouraged to be intellectually curious and develop their reasoning skills. Many graduates have moved on to top universities where they have excelled. Some graduates have achieved huge success in their adult life. If your goal is raise a daughter with a top-notch education and who comports herself with confidence, grace and class (not entitlement), this is the school for you!
The school's main focus is to assist the growth and development of the future women of the world. Overall, this school is excellent! Any parent should consider sending their daughter(s) to Immaculate Heart.
a truly special and amazing institution that more than adequately prepares young women for college and life thereafter.
Immaculate Heart High School is the best and most amazing place to spend the 'best four years of your life.' As a recent graduate of IHHS, I can honestly say that this school has the best to offer in all essential aspects of high school life: academics, extra-curriculars, the arts, and athletics. IHHS's academics are superb. With knowledgeable and wise faculty and a rigorous curriculum, every student is challenged to work hard, yet guided to success. The teachers at IH are also friendly and approachable so students feel comfortable enough to talk to them. IH offers a variety of clubs to appeal to the students' different interests and the activities are never anything less than enjoyable. Students display their magnificent talent in the arts and their athletic abilities in sports. But the most important aspect of this school is the sisterhood developed within each class and within the school.
An amazing place for young women. Strong academic curriculum, excellent student leadership and campus ministry programs, loyal alums. It changed my life!
Small all-girls catholic school with a strong emphasis on academics and arts (performing and fine). Limited athletic opportunities excellent student support
academic is above average extra curricular activies are good especially community service requirements great parental involvement
In a city where some feel tuition equates to the quality of your child's education, it's refreshing to find a school like this. The academics are solid. Students are challenged and most importantly are very well prepared for college. The student body is deverse and is a good representation of L.A.'s population.
The students are all held to a high acedemic achievement standard but all within a very supportive atmosphere. The teachers at the school are all exceptional especially in math and science. Overall this has been a fantastic experience and our daughter is looking forward to starting IH high school.
Graduates arrive at college with well above the average in writing and communication skills. Students are held to very high standards--sometimes holding the bar too high-- particularly in the Math and Science areas.
