An absolutely positive school where teachers care to help students that need help. My son came here from a very good school according to many parents but the teachers were not helping him excel kowing that he needed the extra push and help. Well all that changed when we came here 2 years ago. Ever since my son has improved and is happy with the teachers. The teachers are young, caring and very dynamic which is a plus. My son loves it here, received homework help from his teacher afterschool last year and the afterschool program is great for homework help. Although, I would wish to see more afterschool clubs like chess club or an instrument club for the elementary level. Wonderful school overall!

This was a great school under the previous principal. We had to pull our child out losing all our magnet points in the beginning of the year because the principle was too lazy to work with us. We thought it only had happened to us only to find out other parents were similarly stoned walled. Great school start with great leaders. There still some great teachers but Ms. Ramierz is slowly chipping away at the schools greatness & staffs morale.

As a parent and teacher (at another school) I can say that this is an exceptional school. I am confident that my daughter is receiving a wonderful educational experience. Last school year we were blessed with a magnificent educator for our daughter. Mrs. Moreno did a wonderful job with preparing our daughter for second grade. We admire and are thankful for her dedication and genuine love for the students. We are pleased with our decision to enroll our daughter at this school.

I absolutely love this school. I have a child attending this school and am trying to get my youngest in. I attended Arroyo Seco from 6th - 8th grade and I have seen the school grow academically. Great teachers and wonderful administration.

This is a fantastic school & i know this first hand. I attended Arroyo from 4th to 8th grade. There's a reason why this school is doing so well. We come as strangers & leave as a family. Being a family is one of the most important things. We know each other so very well that we don't ever seem to dislike each other. We also know & see our past teachers on a regular basis. It may be a small school but size didnt matter. 7th & 8th grade teachers stay the same so ever so we know the teachers. We have, in my opinion, the BEST teacher in the WORLD. Ms. Gayane. :D Strict, Gentle, & very, very, hard working... She will not. Let you Fail -Submitted by a student

I had heard so many great things about this school but much to my sad surprise the principal doesn't seem to really care much about the students. She's one of those big smiley faced people that doesn't do much unless you harrass her and I mean harrass. Most of the teachers are GREAT although there is that occasional teacher thats been moved around from grade to grade cause he has no clue what he's doing. If your child has any type of learning disabilities THIS IS NOT the school for you and you will pretty much get the run around and no help. My advice to you is go to the school and speak to the parents to get some 1st hand infoon the current situation.

both my daughter attend this school, one is gifted and the other has difficulty focusing. There needs to be more challanging gifted classes, as for students how need supplemental assistance, because it is a smaller school they do not have the budget to hire additional staff and only the 3 middle school teachers will stay once a week each. The assistant principle is great and will do whatever it takes to help.

Middle school never has AP classes. AP is for high school only. If you went to other middle schools in the surrounding area, you would see that Arroyo is one of the better schools. If you think it is bad, I encourage you to visit King MS and Irving MS, which are Bedlam in comparison. My kid loves it here after leaving Kings' graffiti infested classrooms.

Arroyo is on a growing trend. Our family has had the pleasure to work with dedicated teachers since Kindergarten. My boys this year have teachers new to the school who have been wonderful to partner with. Both have provided special projects that have proven both challenging and exciting. My third grader has excelled in Math and my fifth grader has been driven to go beyond his comfort zone in his favorite subjects of science and math. His teacher has given him the homework and projects to take him beyond great. As for the school, the parent involvement is growing with the establishment of a strong PTA. Also, museum science has been strongly incorporated into the curriculum of all grade levels and is celebrated with special events like Museum Day held this past Saturday. There is a wonderful docent program with The Southwest museum and The Audubon Center. Come visit.

This is a great school, it teaches students how to be responsible, academically and mentally. My daughter had learned a great deal at this school. I would reccomend this school to any parent for their children.

This school's standards based academic program is designed to allow student's to reach their full potential. The curriculum is rigorous and expectations of student achievement are high and instruction is differentiated to meet everyone's needs. The school has a museum science focus with a strong jr. docent program at the middle school level with the neighboring Southwest Museum. Classroom museums occur regularily among all grade levels. Arroyo Seco is an arts prototype school with weekly instruction in dance, drama, or visual arts and frequent arts related field trips. Parent groups have a large membership and parent volunteers at each grade level. My child not only attends Arroyo Seco, but I also am a teacher.

I selected Arroyo Seco for my daughter becuase it was a small school. With only 475 students. The downside of this school is that they do not have a gifted program or AP classes despite that the school is a Magnet School. The surrounding is very natural. With lots of trees. But you better get their early for parking. There is no parking!

The school education is very poor, and the teachers are not involde with the kids ecucation. They do not even have Math Books so my questions is were is the money going? The 6th grade class has 66 student in a two calssroom combined, with no structure for special needs kids, with 2 teachers only. Is this right and fair for the new students?
