ACES has been a great place for my child to learn Spanish and be nurtured by an awesome staff. What it lacks in playground space it more than makes up for in a strong sense of community between kids, parents, and staff. Plus a new school is being constructed in the next few years. Anyone who does their homework will see that they are making big strides on implementing the Gomez-Gomez model and that test scores don't always accurately reflect the quality of learning when it comes to kids learning two languages. This school is great for parents who want to be involved with their kids' education. The staff is very welcoming and supportive. Concerns are heard and considered. We love ACES!

Outdoor space is anemic and short changes students when it comes to quality physical development. Teachers generally are doing as well as can be expected considering the limited resources they have. All staff at this adjunct school seem genuinley attuned to student needs and feelings.

This school proposes a bilingual education based on the French-canadian model but falsl very short of acheiving this lofty goal. Not only this but the way they have implemented their bilingual curriculum is going to do more harm than good to the students attending school. think BICS vs. CALP!!

This wonderful school is being confused with its sister school The Accelerated School (TAS). The Accelerated elementary school (ACES) is a wonderful dual language charter school it has less than 75 students all under the fourth grade. While their State Test scores are low that is common in most dual language schools. Please also keep in mind that the only year the test scores would even count is for the past two school years. Second and third grade. The school has only been open for four years. The school also has a progressive and eclectic after school enrichment program. They offer cricket (the most popular sport for the boys the love it), sign language African drumming, ballet folklorical, crochet (also very popular with the boys) photography and computers(mac). Aces rates a 9 in my book I defend this gem

The school has taken a nost dive in the last few years, they still have some really good teachers which is what gives them hope. Our child will be there for one more year, if they don't improve we'll be forced to change schools.

My child attends the Accelerated Charter Elementary School, and I am impressed by the curriculum and teachers at his school. I have never seen more caring, flexible, and professionally adept teachers. My child is becoming fluent in Spanish, and he is learning at his own level, and his strengths are being built upon. He is not only learning academics, but he is learning how to think critically and be an active contributing member of our community. High parental involvement is required at ACES, and we are building a community together with the staff at our school, where our children will be able to accomplish their goals and dreams. Choosing to send my child to ACES was one of the best decisions our family has made.
