LFCSA is a blessing! Kids from all backgrounds, coming together, with involved parents, amazing teachers, and an educational philosophy that celebrates differences and similarities in us all. It's truly a blessing to be able to call LFCSA my home school.
One of the most innovative, creative, imaginative and amazing schools I've ever had the pleasure of encountering!
Great space, motivated teachers and a strong community. Besides, my child said, "I love my school" this morning before drop off. What more could you want?
Love the enviroment, teachers, principal, curriculum and my faughters smiles as she comes home happy and full of knowledge and new stories.
This school focuses on the arts while other schools are reducing these important classes.
It is just an amazing place to go learn. The teachers and staff are so motivated to teaching our children. Their arts program is so great and my son loves it. I love to hear my son start a sentence with "today in dance class"; it is truly an amazing school.
The focus on arts education and on DWOK (Different Ways of Knowing) is key to accessing kids' multiple intellegences. A Constructivist approach -- allowing kids to follow their interests -- is the best way for anyone to learn anything --
Because my kids can't wait to go back to school Sunday evening. Because there is a sense of enthusiasm about learning and reading that I haven't seen anywhere else.
An arts-based curriculum, a wonderful parent community, and a hugely dedicated staff, all rolled into one incredible school site! We have two children in the school, and have been involved with it from before we open our doors in 2006. Like any new school, we've had our growing pains, but our boys love it, and are learning while enjoying the experience.
We are new to the LFCSA family and couldn't be happier. My children are so excited to go to school everyday. This was not the case at their last school. They especially love the arts aspect of the program. They both have very patient and kind teachers that they love.
Because they help my child explore his creativity and encourage him to express himself.
My children attended last year in 2nd/3rd grade. My gifted 2nd grader did very well. He had an amazing teacher and the loose structure and environment fit him. My 3rd grader, who is both highly gifted and special-needs, had the worst year of his academic life. His teacher had very little patience for him and allowed other students to embarrass him regularly. I witnessed it a couple of times when I was volunteering and was appalled. She expected things of him that would be a struggle for typical children, let alone one with his challenges and disciplined him when he couldn t do it. His self-esteem suffered greatly and I was in tears daily. Administration was slow to respond, never stepped in with the teacher and suggested I medicate him, which in desperation I did. He is thriving at his new school, off the meds.
The staff and families are committed to ensuring the best possible learning experience for the kids. Everyone has made an effort in developing a great environment where kids can thrive, be stimulating, make friends, develop important social and critical thinking skills and most importantly, be kids. We love the Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts and wish that all children could have a school likes ours.
Committed parents, committed teachers, and a positive learning environment creates successful and happy students!
its home grown, lots of arts, dance, music and sports. come a long way since 2006!
The iterative nature of the school mimics open, contemporary work environments and prepares our next generation of leaders for agile problem solving within a collaborative process.
The school has a well considered approach that provides a base for a child's long term success; teamwork, problem solving and communication.
It's a great school, it a fabulous building. The food is fresh and healthy. The teachers are inspired and the learning environment is conducive to learning.
