This school rocks. Both my children are excelling with grades. The teachers and Dr Ford are great. And there is terrific team of parents who make special things happen at the school.

This local LAUSD school provides students and families an excellent education and enriching experience. My son has gone to this school since kinder and he is now in the fifth grade and each year he has had a different experience. I have been extremely pleased with the caliber of teachers, incredible support structure and involved parents who want the best for their children. The administration and parents collaborate. The school offers strong academics, onsite aftercare, enrichment and remedial courses, cultural development and sensitivity, no-tolerance when it comes to bullying and offensive behavior, and demands respect for each other and the environment. Aside from academics, my son has had the opoprtunity to take several years of clarinet, played interschool soccer and softball through the Youth Development Program, learned to play the recorder and tap dance, gone on several fields trips a year and enjoys learning. Parents do what they can to help; some onsite in the classroom, others helps at special events, handle copying, fundraising, communication. Best of all, Beethoven has created an inviting atmosphere and all new families are welcomed. We will miss this school as it has become the heart of our little community and a member of our family. Beethoven Street Elementary School has been very good to us and we're thankful to have had this great experience!!

One of the finest elementary schools in the entire State of California - Beethoven Street Elementary School is recognized as a Cal Dist School, and one of the few Title 1 schools that has been given this honor. This little gem of a community public school rivals some of the finest high-priced private schools in the city. With academics soaring, parent participation full engaged, a well-rounded, inspiring faculty, the students at Beethoven have a pride in their educational experience. Together this school has become a model for what a collaborative effort can achieve.

I love the local flavor of the school reflecting the neighborhood of unique and generous families. The teachers are fabulous, some bringing their extended years of knowledge, while the newer teachers bringing their energy and openess to the children. The combination of the teachers and the families have brought much needed monies to the school to bring in after school activities and fun trips for the kids. My child has loved his 5 years at this school and will carry on his relationships with teachers and peers for a great start in middle school.

I, too, am a Beethoven parent. When our son was to enroll for kindergarten, I had real reservations about any Calif. public school. I soon changed my mind! Our school has tons of parent participation. Teachers, parents and other staff are all supportive of one another and work towards the betterment of the school. It is a joy to be at Beethoven.

We have been very pleased with our experience at Beethoven so far. If you live in the neighborhood, please seriously consider attending your home school. Being able to walk there for everything (drop-off, PTA meetings, girl scouts, school events) is a rare treat in Los Angeles. It's great to feel part of a community of interested (and interesting) parents who are all looking out for our kids.

This is a great little school with very active parents and great teachers, unhappily they seem to give more attention to students with difficulties than to the good one, and as a result, are driving the best one away. There is no effort whatsoever to challenge the great students of the class, if only teachers will also focus on them, have them work in group in the class, this school would be the best around.

Parent collaboration is the key to success at this school. The administration tries hard to work with parents and many have individual interests so all work together to make this a great school for our children. Teachers stay late and offer homework assistance and a caring ear. Parents talk to each other. This school has many activities due to parent-run fundraisers. After care enrichment is spectacular. Children in the YDP prgram are exposed to soccer, softball, video production, salsa dance, drum lessons, group collaborative play, to name just a few. Instrumental music is offered in the upper grades. For some parents, their commitment has been a full time job and evidenced by campus changes, curriculum offerings, API scores and school spirit. Some parents have no interest in participating but involved parents don't let that set them back as their outreach supports all and is commendable. Every child benefits at Beethoven.

Beethoven Elementary is as good as it can be. That school feels like a private one! The focus is on the well being of the children and their best interest. The staff is very friendly. The teachers are amazing, dedicated, and creative! Parents involvement is great, generous and intelligent, turned toward the benefit of the whole and not of the self which drive the school toward excellence. After school classes are diverse, YDP which is a free after-school program is really good, kids get exposed to so many things, salsa, movie making, drawing, games, sport My children are happy in this school and they are running to it every morning, they have excellent result and are flourishing in a safe environment

As a former Beethoven Student myself I am very happy with the direction that Beethoven is moving in! It is a great place to be! The staff from administration to paraprofessionals are a pleasure to work with.

Our son is thriving at Beethoven. We have been happy with his teachers, his homework is manageable, and the overall experience has been wonderful. This year, we are seeing more families coming to Beethoven from other public and private schools. We love the smaller size (350 kids) of Beethoven and we just found out the test scores just went up another 30 points (882). There is a community of families and teachers at the school that support each other and that seems to be the reason the student population is doing so well. Hope you live in the area... its been great for us.
