This school was so awesome, I was a part of the gifted progam and we went on lots of fun and educational field trips. I've made my way through Cienega and without the help of my supporting teachers I wouldn't have made it to where I am now, Palms Middle School, for highly gifted students. Those teachers taught me well.
Teachers and a principal named Ms.Candice McLurkin have turned around Cienega Elementary. 7 years ago, I visited Cienega elementary and it was a mess. The school was filthy, the teachers didn't care, test scores were terrible and I would not think of sending my children there. Today, LAUSD innovation department should use Cienega as a model of improving all failing schools. Supporting the needs of children and adults, motivates adults to do extra for children!
The current principal at Cienega along with its administrative team, teachers, and parents are working together to help are students succeed academically. Everyone from the office to the support staff is doing there part in making Cienega an exceptional school. Go Wolf Pack!
Right now Cienega Elemetary is working hard with our children an they are improving a lot, teachers and parents are working together to make the school better in all ways!
Staff and teachers really care about student outcomes! This is evident
Cienega Elementary is a not a good school! For anyone who cares about their kid's future, do not put them in this school! For those who don't care, this is the school for you.
There needs to be more involment from faculty, parents and teachers. The needs of the students are not always the main priority.
