A Great Disappointment. If you value your childs future and education, please take a look at other schools. KD has a great facade, but is lacking in substance. Poor communication, poor technology, no push for excellence, just "the look" of it. Its just another LAUSD warehouse, and Im sorry I sent my child there. It is however a safe school. I'll give them that.

Excellent school and best kept secret in So. Los Angeles. Great staff and the students are well behaved and studious. Only disadvantages is the lack of space for physical education

A great school contains excellent teachers who thrive to make their students achieve excellency. A principal commited on improving the school along with its students. Contains challenging academic programs that bring out the best of its student. King/Drew contains all these attributes and more. Along with its career program, AP classes, and outstanding teachers, King/Drew stands as an excellent school to send students to. Take it from a King/Drew students currently attending. Ignore the comment of the reviewer that posted on May 9, 2010. If you must criticize a school, at least use correct grammar when doing so.

I'm currently a sophomore at K/D , and I have to say that this is a good school , it's not like other schools that let you slack off and stuff , they keep you on track with what you have to do . All the teachers there went to great Universities and colleges and have absolutely surpassed my expectations. I recommend this school to parents that want they're children to succeed in life .

As a K/D alum, I have to admit that while the dress code is strict, it allowed us as students to worry less about looking good and more about learning. The teachers at King/Drew were wonderful overall, most cared about our learning and went above and beyond for their students. The principal, Ms. Woods, is a fair and just woman, always friendly and approachable. I dont think I would be where I am now (UCLA) if it weren't for the opportunities this school offered. The college office is always well informed and the extracurriculars are organized efficiently. As a person who spent 4 years there, I would recommend spending your child there.

Very good school,The principle is very professional as well as the teachers. My son has been here since 9th grade and I love the school. The teachers care, the 11 th grade counselor is a great mentor to my son and other students. I wish all the students and staff great success!

Very good school, with dedicated teachers and happy students. The dress code is FAR too strict, and many of the administrators are WAY too casual in their dress, especially because they hold the students to such a high expectation of adhering to the dress code. Also, the parent volunteers at the school could be a bit more professional in their mannerisms (as could the administration).
