I am a student attending Lincoln high school, I transferred sophomore year and my grades boosted up! I have nearly straight A's you know why? Because every class is easy teachers just pick favorites and since it's in the ghetto they expect us to be stupid so they give us easy work. The magnet is the only good part of Lincoln, all of the teachers in magnet are really good and teach you more than you're supposed to know. Unless you're enrolling in magnet then don't , I repeat DONT go to Lincoln

This school is so hard to rank because it all depends on the students and family. My cousins and family all graduated here and went head with college and graduated. We got most of the southern univsersities covered: USC, UC Irvine, Berkeley, Cal State Northridge, Fullerton, WIlliams, UCLA, Cal State Los Angeles. The neighborhood is nothing to holler about but it has become better. I am asian and during my time there, the staff was more hispanic-oriented in their help, but the teachers in the honors program are superb. They look past the skin and will bent over backwords if, and only if they felt you gave a damn about your education, and willing to put in the time and effort to do well. This school is a gem in LAUSD. A lot of potential but up to the students to make the it happen academically.

To me, Lincoln isn't as bad as people say it is. It is an okay school with great academic things but also a variety of people. Peple of all sorts attend this school and that is what makes it great, it might have some problems here and there, but overall it is a great school with great people (teachers and students)

It isn't the best school, but one of the better ones in the area. There is a good range of academic programs, but not so much in other departments such as art or music. Overall, the teachers are good, but the administration needs improvement.

Abraham Linconln High School, compared to other local high schools like Franklin, Wilson, Roosevelt, is the most aggressive in helping students get to the next level, which college. Please note that a good majority of the Teaching staff is Lincoln Alumni, please look further into it.

Lincoln High, like most large schools, has programs that are working very well, as well as some that are not. Lincoln's attention to the high achieving student has paid off well, over 600 students took AP examinations last year with a passing rate of 55%. Graduates who have aggresively used these classes have successfully gone on to highly respected universities including MIT, Caltech, and Harvey Mudd for example. Math and Science are definately the stong subjects for this school, partially due to its large component of ELL students. Lincoln provides Saturday School and some afternoon programs to augment language skills. The High School is a safe haven for students and an oasis in an inner city environment. Lincoln is the second oldest high school in Los Angeles and has been on historic tours that highlight its streamline art deco style.

This School is well serving when it comes to higher education and special programs. Here, your child can become a member of such programs like CIS, UPP, and the Asian club where tutors and teachers help with the academia of the child. Since I also attended This High school, I will say that eventhough the area is not up to the average of the state, most of the teachers in this campus give 101% from their part. Overall this school is good only if your child is able to become a member of one of the clubs mentioned before. UPP is one that really Helps. By Mr. Navarro.

This is one of those schools where there are extremes and no middle ground. The teachers are either extemely dedicated or frighteningly apathetic. Opportunities for higher academics, for sports, music, internships, etc, are very readily available, however, only to those who really want to pursue them. If you enroll in this high school, I'd recommend loading up on the Advance Placement classes as the teachers responsible for them are beyond dedicated to your education. The team of teachers and admin staff responsible for the AP program at this school are not only very competent but willing to go above and beyond in mentoring and preparing their students. The other end of the spectrum are the instructors who teach the basic courses who simply shows up for their paychecks. Essentially, Lincoln's good is extremely good, but the bad is also quite bad.

Good education and it seems like some students are reall focused while others just go and mess around but thy get theri jobs doen at the end of the road. There fore I give this school an 8 and it would be higher if the percentage of students passing the exit exam was a little bit higher than what it is at the present time or earlier times.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
