as a 6th grader at muir, i an say tht this school is acceptable. they have magnet programs and opportunities to get into college,NAI,but since this is my first year, i would expect problems, but i find it pretty easy as a 6th grader because its a pretty safe environment!!!!!i love this school

as an 8th grader at this school i have to say is OK... i mean the school is pretty average i would have to say. the teachers are very helpful and dont mind going out of there way to help a student. this school has a pretty good magnet program. every one is pretty nice. as for the students there pretty defiant... i mean not every one is bad but atleast in every class u'll find a bad kid. as for the after school programs threr pretty ok. they have a program called MESA which a science and math program endorsed by USC i was in theis program and i enjoyed my self even one a few compitions that were held on usc campus. they also have AVID and NAI also endorsed by USC. not much extra curriclar activites.

Being a teacher, I am am somewhat biased, but I love Muir. There are problems without a doubt, but the school compares very favorably to other schools in the area. There are a lot of really good teacher and substitutes almost always tell me how Muir is less chaotic and disorderly than other MS's in the area.

The school can be a good school if the child is placed in the right programs. The magnet program is great, but the other programs are not up to grade level. There are problems, but I think it is one of the better schools in the area.

This is one of the worst schools that you can torture your child to stay in. My only reason for placing him in this school is out of convenience and now I am living to regret it. My son has never been a fighter but has had to learn to defend himself, due to the lack of security in this school. Most of the teacher have a who cares attitude let the next teacher deal with it. I will not make that mistake with my other two boys no matter what I will have to do to have them go to a diffrent school. My son has been jumped a numerous amount of time. How come there is nobody around to see these things.
