INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I see that the principal Brito is not being the principal we thought she was going to be good. she is mean and has a parents and students who she prefers. now a parent is working there and treats the students very bad. I see staff crying cause she is mean and that is not right. the academia is suffering a lot. I would like to have my child some other place but she has friends here. My family wants to leave. A parent told me to put stuff here because people know. I miss how it use to be, friendly and happy with Ms. Suelto and Ms. Sarmento We need her to go.

The school just keeps getting worse. The principal has no shame. At graduation she gave the same speech as the 8th grade teacher. I guess they must be teaching the kids to copy each others work since thats what she did. She's rude to the kids and yells at them. She even yells at the employees and talk behind thier backs and does the same with parents. Its sad that great teachrers left, but i don't blame them for doing it, who would want to be there.

Wow, not sure how much the school has changed but from the looks of the other reviews it changed a lot. I first attended this school back in 1997 and the staff and teachers were all great. I learned a lot, everything was organized and such.

The school has NOT IMPROVED! The school is not academic at all. Class time is being effected with different activities. How are students able to learn if they are performing dances and etc. There is no consistency. Parents don't know what is going on until just a few days before, calendars are not given out ahead of time, and school gets cancelled with only 2 days notice twice in the same month. The last few positive comments written had to have been written by the principal herself because that is how she talks. This is not an academically prosperous environment at all.

The school has improved and glad we stayed. Principal Brito is doing an excellent job! She has a very professional demeanor, very approachable and has the passion to make the school even better in the years to come. Teachers are great. Having a Doctor in the faculty is a huge plus on top of rest of the qualified Teachers in all grade levels. Our child learns how to read as early as Pre-K. Mrs. Pi a is one of the wonderful teacher! The school has a new website and it has improved a lot. There is more parents, faculty and community participation going on. Choir, Karate, Art, Dance, Sports activities are some of the enrichment programs the school made available for the students. There is no other way for this school but moving up!

Great school! I am a proud parent of child that attends Our Lady of Loretto and I have seen the change from the previous Principal Mrs. Sarmiento to the new Principal Mrs. Brito. If I was to make an analogy I would have to choose night and day. The school underwent a period of darkness when the old principal Mrs. Sarminto ran the school. About the time when I was contemplating pulling my child out of Loretto, the news were given that Mrs. Sarmiento had resigned and there was a new principal appointed. My husband and I decided to give this new principal a try and boy we were surprise! To start the school year we had the wonderful surprise that our Lady of Loretto finally had central air. The school was repainted and the carpets were clean and floors were shinning. Thank you Mrs. Brito for accomplishing in your short term what we were told it could not be done to that school all these years.

The school is changing dramatically: principal, teachers and the facilities as well. Classes are well taught. Though, it still needs time for a complete make over.

Horrible school!! Last principle left and this new one Mrs. Brito is worse. Always screaming at the children and has no patience for kids! Academically they don't challenge kids and it is a "bootleg" version of a private school. Teachers and principal need their credentials reviewed. Sorry to say.

This school needs a lot of help. Everything is unsatisfactory. You would want to send your child where the focus is improving student learning!

What has happened to the standards of this school? It has gone down. Quality has gone low and families are leaving. School is under enrolled. Uniform policy, academic & programs got worse. Lost the traditional way of motivating students by means of medals, trophies and awards. A lot of backstabbing & cussing among staff??? A change of leadership should be addressed ASAP. I hate to see my former school go down the drain. WHAT HAPPENED?

The Principal, Miss Suelto, has made a great impact in this school. She has raised the standards of the school by increasing scores for student achievement, creating a website, creating a Development Board, making structural renovations, encouraging her teachers to get credentialled and awarding students for their great work in different subjects. My two children are so happy all the time coming home with certificates, medals and trophies. Although the school doesn't have a gym or a pool, my daughter has received medals in swimming and art competitions. Parents should always be with their children as Miss Suelto says, to develop their potentials to the fullest. Thanks and congratulations for a job well done at Loretto, Miss Suelto!!!

The teachers are great at the school. My daughter attended 6th grade and she has done remarkably well. The teacher really cares about the students. Writing and reading was a target, everyday she came and talked about many things she learned. Loretto Elementary is a great school, i feel safe taking my daughter there. It's convenient for me and my family.

I can only commend the Principal and her teachers. The school tuition fees and their fundraisers are just fine. You want the best, Loretto is where you should enroll your child. I feel that my child is always safe, excelling and always disciplined. I feel great to be part of this school. I highly recommend it.

My son has been a student at Loretto for 5 years. It may not be aperfect school but my son has enjoyed his stay here. Most of the teachers are great, helping the students develop their potential. Last year, my son represented his school at the Screen Actors Guild writing contest and won 4th place in his age group. The school and teachers have inculcated in my son a love for reading and writing. Every week, they are required to write a book report. The school has also given them a sense of history. A few weeks ago, their 4th garde class went on a field trip to Mission san Juan capistrano.

I am a proud parent of Loretto. This private school is up to date. The school uses GRADELINK and I am able to view my daughter's grades anytime and anywhere I am. The teachers at Loretto are great, professional, and respectful. They follow the curriculum standards based from task descriptions and grades viewed in Gradelink. I admire the leadership of this school. I want my daughter to graduate at Loretto, the best catholic school!

As a school leader, I am so pleased and I feel the need to give more to our students. I am proud of this year's line-up of faculty and staff, for without them, the spirit of the team, will not be complete. This school year, our enrollment has gone up to 215, despite some external factors causing barriers, our number continues to rise and this is an indicator of the school's strength.

The school maintains its quality education by the constant supervision and governance of its principal, Miss Fidela Suelto. The teachers like Ms. Isabel Igoa Kuhn, Mr. Michael Solis, mr. Loaiza and Ms. Martinez are so committed in their delivering of standards, use of learning approaches for individual student needs and a regular evaluation of their assessment scores. They do have a teacher whose ability to handle the Loretto Children's Choir is superb. They have won the BRAVO Great Arts Program Award, an award given by the Music Center Group in downtown Los Angeles area. The school provides Piano, Voice, Guitar and Choir lessons. Sports, Karate, Latin Dance, Altar- Servers' Society, Tutoring Program, Safety Patrols' Program, Student Council, Academic Decathlon are some of their best extra-curricular activities. the level of parent involvement is high. Loretto parents support the goals of the principal. Their efforts contribute highly to various fundraisers for special educational purposes.

Our Lady of Loretto is an amazing school. The area is great, the teachers are so nice and the students are very polite. They have great activities for the student body, such as dances, spirit week, and alumni reunions. But, OLL also teaches the importance of religious belief. Being a Catholic school, going to Mass for major religious holidays is anything but new. The after school programs for the children are excellent. The activities are martial arts, choir, sports, dance, instrument lessons, and student council. Surely, the students enjoy the curriculum. Our Lady of Loretto is the perfect choice to start anyone's bright future!
