Westside is a great school. The principal and the teachers work constantly to make sure the kids reach their potential. They make learning interesting. I volunteered in the classroom for about 3 months on and off, and the teachers are amazing! The parent club is involved, and the kids are really excited about learning. GREAT SCHOOL!

Could improve. Mr. Mcculloch is a good principal and I think he'll turn things around.

hello, I'm a former student at Westside. I'm in the 6th grade and proud of it. To me, Westside is a great school, if you live in the area. The teachers there are great and friendly to students. The school is pretty big and has a computer lab, gym, cafeteria, library, resoarse room, play ground, and a huge field to run on. I'm in my last trimester and I think I'm going to really miss it! Next year it won't be 5th-6th, it will be k-6th. The school is building a new play ground for kinder garden and is getting rid of the tennis courts to make more parking space, so it will be differrent. I hope they change the lunch menu though! For now I'll try to enjoy my last three months a Westside. Parents that live in Los banos will enjoy their child learning at Westside! Hope you like it!

Westside Union Intermediate School definatly had a positive affect on my school life. My 5th grade teacher was amazing she was very trusting and she made learning fun! I left the school half way through the year and I miss it to this day. No school that I went to after that could even come close to Westside

I have one child that just finished her two years at Westside Intermediate and I have one that is just starting her first year there. For the most part my children have been lucky with the teachers that they have had and currently have. I have only had one issue with one of the teachers and that was about challenging my childs mental capacities. After 3 parent teacher conferences with that teacher I finally convinced the teacher to give my daughter more challenging work. The leadership of the princilple and vice principle are not what I would call very healthy. I have had a few meeting with the principle about the issue of my child not being challenged enough and his response to me was that there had been a new ciriculumn introduced and that some of the teachers were having a little bit of trouble instilling it into there daily routine and that I should have some patience and see if things improve. Well needless to say that was the last time I spoke to the principle about any issues that I might have had concerning that school. I did get a better response from the vice principle about the same issue though. It just so happens that when I needed to speak to the principle again about the same issue, he wasn't there so I spoke to the vice principle and she was more receptive and concerned about the well being and growth of my daughter as a student than being more concerned about the teacher and their inability to accept and grasp a new lesson plan that the board has instilled. All in all I do not believe the school and the school board are doing enough to instill high standards into our childrens shcool cirriculumn and that is why the children in this area of california do not get the recognition and attention that so many of them deserve.
