Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Initially believed this to be a great school, but after witnessing the gossiping teachers, their frequent participation in online (Facebook) bullying of parents and the arduous task of requesting the same information repeatedly without answers , they've lost any dignity they had obtained.

The teachers at Monarch Grove have a love for teaching, it's not just a job to them. They have a genuine interest in every student succeeding. The parents are friendly and very involved. The kids, for the most part, are kind and respectful. I think it says a lot about a community when the kids don't even need to lock up their bikes at school. We are very happy with the school, and would highly recommend it!

The school has as small town atmosphere and is community oriented. The principal, teachers and parents know most students and families by name. We have great teachers with innovative teaching methods who really care about the kids. The school has high expectations for the kids scholastically and socially which they achieve while having a good time. Kids with learning problems get extra help. Lots of parental involvement.

The teachers are motivated, professional and work on learning skills and building empathy. The Principal, the English Learner teachers, the secretary and staff work together for the good of the student and empathy and cooperation are responsibility are as important as testing. My granddaughter is thriving in this school.

This is a 1st class school!! The principal, staff and teachers are the best! They treat all the children with great respect. If all California Schools functioned at this level, our education would be in alot better shape. Keep up the great work!!

Last night we had our first ever schoolwide (K-6) Literacy Night. It was incredible! The turn-out of families was more than double of what we expected. I (the Principal) started the night off with a general meeting in the Multi-Purpose room with a welcome, a brief overview and a demonstration or 'Interactive read-aloud'. All the teachers were here and demonstrated some element of our 'Comprehensive Literacy' Model of reader/writers instruction. We heard many favorable parent comments all along the lines of 'This was really fun AND.. I learned something! ... what a great school community this is!' I am very proud to work here; I have been in education for over twenty-five years and I have not experienced this kind of teamwork and community before. It's amazing.

I really appreciate how the principal interacts with the students. Yesterday, for example, the principal was waiting at the student drop-off as the kids got out of their cars and was each greeted by their first name with a big smile by the principal. I know my son felt special... he really seems to care about each child, individually.
