I was a student in heliotrope elem in 1992 to 1994 it had the best teachers and staff so I'm glad to hear that it hasn't changed they still continue to have a great staff!!!
This school is doing such a wonderful job. The principal, teachers and staff are all great. And the Parent Center is extremly the best. All the moms work very hard to help the teachers. There is alot of parent envolvment. I am very pleased with the school.
Students are working very hard to meet all grade level standards. Teachers are dedicated and show intrest in each childs progress.
Good school where the teacher motivate students to reach for a better future.
As a parent I believe that this school's main focus is on academics. It has improved over the last couple of years, although there is a lack of extracurricular activities and sports acitivities. I believe that children would benefit more out of these types of activities together with the academics. The level of parental involvement has improved little by little. Overall, I believe that most of the teachers are excellent. The principal and the vice principal are mostly available, which is good.
Heliotrope, has struggle to keep improving test scores every year. But, has shown great improvement towards a better academic achievement. Teachers, work very hard in a collaborative manner and have student achievement as its most important priority. This past test scores have shown that Heliotrope, is moving forward and demonstrating that even though it lacks parent involvement teachers care enough to teach students.
Positive school environment; caring teachers who set high expectations for student achievemnt. Teachers have ongoing staff development and attend frequent workshops to better their skills for teaching. Raeding and writing in addition to mathematics are core curricular areas. A before and afterschool program is offered. Extended learning opportunities and intercession programs offered for those students who are struggling.
