My daughter is in fourth grade and loves to learn! Not only is she getting academic instruction but she is learning to play two instruments, sing in a choir, act in plays, paint, draw, knit beautiful hats and more!
Loving and nurturing school in a serene country setting. Teachers and staff are commited and enoucourage the children to their full potential. The downsides? Not as academic as mainstream school. No sports program. The school is also expensive relative to other private schools in the Auburn area. The school required parent involvement which can be difficult at times but creates a sense of community with the parents and teachers. I recommend the school for students who enjoy and artistic, nature focused environment, less academic (less homework)
My son is a junior at a state university and will be the first to tell you that the core foundation for the excellence he is able to demonstrate daily in school came from the multiple, on-going levels of loving care, disciplined skill-building, and broad exposure to a myriad academic, artistic, and practical challenges every human being needs to feel fully prepared to be a productive participant in the modern world. Thank you.
Live Oak nurtures and teaches the whole child. They allow children to develop and have an early childhood rich in play before introducing academics. The teach the head, heart and hands whereas most schools just teach to the test. I love the hands on education rich in arts and music. Live Oak is a beautiful and wonderful place where children thrive and childhood is preserved instead of rushed.
I love the dedicated teachers who treat my child with such caring and respect. They bring out all the gifts my child has inside her and I am so grateful for the Waldorf education she is receiving at Live Oak. It's a dream come true being a part of this community.
Live Oak embraces the whole child whereas other schools accept the partial and conditional one.
My daughter has gone to this school since age 5 - she's now 10 - and she has thrived! The school is also an all-around wonderful community for all members of the family.
Nurturing environment where children learn through experience, not just memorizing facts. Wonderful music and art education, along with strong academics. Every child is honored. Beautiful 40 acre campus full of opportunities to explore and learn in nature.
Great unique learning environment made fun a creative and very participant. Where I am going to send my child! :D
It supports healthy, natural development of the physical body, mental capacities and emotional abilities of all the children who attend Live Oak Waldorf School. It has a beautiful campus; a friendly, talented and wise faculty and administration. Children are not as pressured to be cool or a certain way as in many schools these days.
