My son attended Lydian over the summer to get help with math. His first teacher was great, very experienced. She helped my son catch up on math from the previous year and made a plan to tackle his test anxiety. We really felt ready for the school year and were feeling confident, but one day we came in and he had a new teacher. A recent college graduate with a degree in an unrelated field and no experience in teaching high school math. We ask for our old teacher back but were told she was booked and the schedule was set. Experiences at Lydian tend to be binary. You could get one of the experienced teachers, in which case the experience is transformative. Or you could get a recent college graduate with a degree in a completely unrelated field (and for the same exorbitant price). If you want to try Lydian, do your research. Find the names of the good teachers, request them by name and make sure you are clear you'll accept no substitutes. You'll have to ask around for this information, because it's not on their website. This information is closely guarded at Lydian, due to the extremely inconsistent teaching staff. Proceed with caution.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
