Great staff, students and administrators. Academics are second to none as well as their athletic programs!

This school is "THE TWILIGHT ZONE", but you deserve more details. Segregation against newcomers, racism and sexism are the extremely common antisocial behaviors from the local children who were born and/or raised in this area. Some of these children say that Middletown is a paradise, but these are the ones who haven't even been outside the state. The principal and some local teachers are anti-newcomers too. The principal doesn't even introduce himself when you are new. He is not the typical all inclusive and helpful principal. Families come to this town for various reasons, but mainly because the housing is inexpensive in comparison to other counties. But the locals think you come here because this school is the best school ever. They do not realize that this school is graded a "5" out of "10" making it a mediocre school in the state. I moved my family here because I could afford to buy a house, and rentals for income. Also, the elementary school my child graduated from was rated a 10 out of 10. So I know how highly qualified professionals serve your child and you as a parent. PLEASE, READ THE APRIL 29, 2014 REVIEW because I agree 100% with it. Improvement can be done.

Very disappointing student support from administration and many teachers. Blatant racism, sexism and anti-uniqueness compared to our school in the Bay Area. This is all supported by the administration. My child is above average in grades and in sports and finds the academic work ok but most of the teachers unchallenging and unsupportive of intelligent students. My child has been here Freshman and Sophomore years and we are looking to move from the area and find a better school right now where actual learning is fostered, instead of just following the rules and not getting into trouble, because that is all the teachers and administration seem to have time for. My own simple interactions with the principal have been nothing short of appalling, where he assumes kids are bad. I can't say anything good but a couple teachers my child has had who she says are actually interested in fostering an atmosphere of learning, inquiry and curiosity. The sports coaches are great.

I had to involve myself with this rating because of the overall satisfaction! I have 2 boys, one in the bay area and one here in Middletown high. the staff all know the students names and the parents as well! if a parent needs to contact a teacher its always with quick response and with helpful answers always! I love this school and the staff! my other son in the bay area was swept under the carpet and had to move with me here in his final year to graduate and did! hes not a athlete and was guided with much attention with the principal staff and teachers! whoever said this school was problematic has not seen a large high school with so many distractions! this school is amazing!!

A handful of really good teachers but overall, the school does not support their students unless they are on the football team. Office staff unprofessional and rude to the point of being hostile. Anti-bullying policy, no weapons policy and dress codes not enforced. Info on greatschools not correct as far as class size (in our experience, average of 28 per teacher. Weights class has 49 students to 7 weight machines) and classes offered (for example, Spanish is the only language offered). Very disappointing.

Middletown high has a wide variety of classes to take for all students of different intrests. There is a small amount of students which makes it easier to get the help you need because you have the chance to develop a relationship with the staff. It is a very tight knitt community were every one cares and protects their own.

Middletown has a normal array of academic programs with the addition of the FFA program. They have excellent sports programs that they support. The arts leave a bit to be desired. The band, choir, drama, are not very good. THey have a new pricipal who has done a nice job of creating a positive atmosphere. The teachers are accessible for the most part, and are knowledgeable and caring.
