Adding the academy program was a great improvement for the students. Young children are naturally curious and the academy enhancement is a great way to expose them to Art, Science, and Technology in a fun way. The staff is great. The proactiveness in communication varies by teacher, but that's typical in any environment. The teachers have so much to teach in limited amounts of time, so it's not unreasonable that there be a delay at times. Nonetheless, if you need more proactiveness; ask and you'll receive it. Worse case, involve the principal early on. The principal is fantastic. She's a great listener and enforces rules consistently and fairly. She's always willing to share ideas to help the children be successful. She also goes out of her way to ensure the students are happy and always makes the time to ask how they are doing. The school has a strong parent support system. You can always count on parents (working & non-working) making the time to help. A great educational experience is definitely the #1 priority here.

The principal at this school is absolutely wonderful. She really cares about the students, is fair and diplomatic, and I can't imagine better. The teachers I'd give 1-5 stars. To my child's current 5th grade teacher, I give 1 star. This teacher is inexperienced, visibly plays favorites, gives poor instructions, and intimidates my child. His 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade teachers were the best, 4-5 stars easily. Parent involvement is great. Facilities are good overall, even though old.

Great small school in a bigger city. Nice family atmosphere. Excellent teachers and great parents club.

Academic programs are good except for the teaching of Hitler & the Jewish elimination during WWII. Music program was good but they limited the choices of instruments. Art & Sports programs are ok. The school appearance & upkeep is unacceptable I realize the school is older but that still shouldn't be an excuse.
